Friends List Issue

Well, not technically a problem with my Friends list, but for people trying to add me to their Friends list, that's another story.

I just recently started playing DDO (Around a day or 2 ago tops) and it's weird, I can add anyone to my Friends list with ease, no problems at all. But yet when anyone in the game tries to add me to their Friends List, it won't let them add me. They all say it doesn't give any errors or anything, they type in my name or use the target window, both of which equals the same results, nothing happens.

Not sure if this was the right place to post this or not, but thought I would give it a shot. Would just like for people to be able to add me to their Friends List. If anyone knows of a way to correct this please let me know.

If I remember correctly there is a box in the option panel you can check uncheck to block becoming friends or allow them to add you. I will verify when I get home tomorrow night.

Yeah it seems your settings in the UI are causing your issues. You might find some other interesting settings in there too that ya didn't know existed.

Just went through all Options Settings and theirs not an Option to Disable/Enable incoming Friends requests.

Are you anonymous? I don't think that should affect anything, but it couldn't hurt to turn it off if you are.

have they been experiencing the problem with both using the *right click* -> add friend as well as with manually typing your name in?

I'm not set to Anonymous as far as I know. Just started playing a couple days ago and haven't messed with much of the settings besides the Graphic Settings.

Yeah, basically no one in game can Add me to their Friends Lists at all. Either it be by Right Clicking and using the Target Window or by manually typing in my Characters Name.

I honestly do not know what to say.

I was shocked when I saw it was turning off or on Party, Guild invites a well PvP challenges only in the Option Panel.

Since you had tried all 3 methods I know it dispels my other theory.
I was going to ask if they were typing in your last name as well.
(Caused me some grief until I found out first names only)

Are you VIP?
If yes, I would submit a bug report and see if there is something the GM's can look at?

To speak to a Customer Service Representative (GM) from within the game, please click the "?" menu button, choose "New Ticket", select a category, describe your problem, and submit the ticket.


If not, you can post the same question in this forum thread which is supposed to be monitored by GM's.

Would your name happen to have some weird characters in it, or be exceptionally long for some reason?

Nah, I didn't use any strange characters and such for the Name. And I wouldn't think it's too long. It's 9 Letters.
