Question about Reaver's Fate

In order to maximize my piking, I was wondering if it were possible to stay on the door side of the barrier, remove all my armor, and let the elementals kill me. In other words, would dieing there send me to the penalty box?

Anyone tried it?

Nope. You'll still be stuck outside the door. It used to work, but they changed it a long time ago.
