I heard that there was a thread someplace that mentioned some upcoming PVP fixes. Is this true, and if so where is the thread?

Now, now, nothing wrong with trying to balance pvp for those who enjoy it IF (AND ONLY IF) they don't break/change anything that impacts the rest of the game we enjoy in the process. Wait and see... THEN quit (if needed).

true enough, I jumped to the conclusion that the fixes would affect both inside and outside of pvp.

Well I won't aruge the fact that PvP to people is fun and has a place.
The problem with most games are games that aren't built FROM THE START with a Set concrete rules and balance of power.
PvP in this game... was basicly just thrown in with no added rules other then a few differnt things.

and what if it affects both pvp and pve in a positive way? So quick to assume that a pvp fix will negatively pve, yes? :p

I thoroughly enjoy pvp. But some games simply are not designed for it. you generally get this with any game where players are outputting alot more damage than health they have, it leads to pvp that is nothing more than a rapid series of one shots. This is one of those games. even PnP DnD isn't too well off for pvp. there's a separate rule set for it in tournaments. and all that really does is reduce it down to just swinging on each other till one of you falls over. This game focuses on PvE. as does actual DnD. and to try to balance it for PvP at the expense of PvE would likely put the final nail in the coffin for some PnP players. as the game already horribly deviates away from PnP on too many things.

I'd have to go with my past experiences on a varity of mmorpgs, and not give it the benefit of the doubt as most every pvp balance i've experienced has effected PvE negatively.

it will take too much work to balance pvp considering the percentage of playerbase that dont really care or totally hate it and wish for it to be removed from the game completely.
not everyone that PVE's PVP's but everyone that PVP's PVE's so..
just stick with making awesome quests devs.
They did many "balance fixes" to pvp over time. If they didn't, there would be disco balls , mind fogs and firewalls all over the pits :P

You know, if the devs really wanted to balance PvP.. they'd need to hop in a party with me and watch.
I could explain and show them so much... do the devs even play the game? Like questing and stuff even..

LOL !!
Dont get me wrong as I do PvP from time to time ....... but PvP is NOWHERE near as popular as PvE in this game
Just a guess taken from how many toons are in the lobster vs. how many toons are on the server at any given time says MAYBE 5% of the DDO community PvP's
Sorry .... Its really not a PvP based game

Read the 100's of threads and 1000's of posts previous to this one to see why you are so totally and completely wrong about PvP being as important as PvE (as far as THIS game is concerned).

As a melee who plays alot in the PVP arena because of RL where im unable to commit time, I enjoy the challenge of trying to best a caster or cleric. As far as I am concerned I think PVP is fine. Casters and clerics should dominate the arena and if I am Owning them then they suck!~
On A side note though, I wouldnt mind them converting one of the lowbie slayer areas into a PVE/PVP slayer area - all spells available kind of thing, teleporting into different zones based on level, etc, etc.

NOt in this game and never will be beause if they make enough changes for pvp I promise it will kill the game as 99.9% will leave.

I would really like to play something besides WoW,
thats not pre scripted pVe. boooring.
PvP provides that realistic probability
that your face is going to get melted.
Its a game.
Try to hold still while I have fun.

I know this may of been mentioned before but pvp could be balanced by the following. Dances either not allowed or reduced time in the pit. If you cant cast certain clickies in there that help you why is dance for 1 min and unresitable no less allowed? People have been using this for griefing for to long now. I have seen a bard dance people for 10 minutes straight and dance others if they came to that person to free them. Now im all for holds dont start whinning casters please. But dance deffintly needs to be fixed. Tr missels need to be able to be blocked by shield. I know you guys worked so very hard to cheap out on people but all good things should come to an end. If this doesnt get fixed then pvp is ruined and my gaming experince is ruined and I will be more then happy to find a more pvp balanced game.
