What is up with the merchants @ midnight PST?

It has been crazy the last few nights on Argonesson!
Not being able to sell / repair /buy items.
Not being able to access the bank or even drop things out of inventory.
It is not only me as I ask in general chat while it occurs and it seems like everyone has the same problem.

Is this a game bug on all servers or something specific to Argonesson?

It used to be the norm at around 6-7 eastern time that this happened. seems like they bumped it up a few hours. I try to avoid bank, ah and vendors when the lag hits. Get used to it.

Used to make jokes about the 6 o'clock lag being when the Turbine headquarters coffee machines turn on. I guess now the monkeys who write the story line research the net at midnight for awesome new ideas.. That would explain the lag. ;)

It's not server-specific and relates to a database scheduled task so the duration varies.

I had this when I logged on at 2AM Central this morning...persisted until I relogged

and its not just on argo.

orien gets it and sarlona gets it - my guess is the other servers get it, but i dont play on them.

General consensus among players is that some sort of backup or maintenance is occurring. I don't thing there has ever been an official response about it though.

agreed. only thing is it went away and now is back with full force.
so... whats changed recently?
