Glitch Preventing Completion?

Firstly, I would like to apologize if this is in the wrong section. I could not really find one that would fit this.
So here I am.

I was running Tangleroot by myself, near completion too. Just got the stronghold key, killed the last Avenger when this thing happend:

I tried everything. Walking backwards, Hitting Q hoping for the door to be selected... nothing has work.
Is there something I may have messed up in the user interface? :(

Looks like that is the first gate and not the second. Did you try backspace to select nearby targets and cycle until get you the gate?

Glitches can occur and unfortunately trying to tab to select the target is your best hope in this circumstance.

I presume that is a skin you have applied - this shouldn't affect the game content but if glitches continue I would remove it as one of the troubleshooting steps (after updating display drivers; resetting game display preferences etc)

As it's now 3 hours later I'm sure you have either re-run the quest or moved on. Hopefully the glitch will not occur next time you enter.

I tried this but it didn't work. I eventually just gave up and re-ran it.

I completed the Misery's Peak Quest, and tried to get end reward from Captian Rinar at the docks.

The Captian has a green checkmark over her head, but refuses to respond to attempts to enguage. Clicking on her just causes a blinking cycle of all my Tray icons, but no conversation window, or choices for reward items.

A bug report has not been responded to in the past 24 hours.

My character can't advance until the Captain has been reminded of her duties, and stops hoarding the loot!

The tangleroot pic seems a graphics failure, i ocassionally get those on a laptop.
Relogging usually solves it, just make sure you do it in less than five minutes so you don't get kicked out of the quest.
(or try alt-tab to kill the process and start with a fresh client)

The korthos case seems a targetting glitch, which occurs fairly often, it doesn't let you target many things.
Sometimes you just need to tumble or otherwise move around so that whatever is stuck clears.
Else you may try relogging as well, if it persist it might be something with the keyboard or mouse.

I rebooted the game, then the computer, and I've run other korthos quests as a test, with no problems getting end rewards, or "speaking" to the NPC Reward giver.

This NPC refuses to acknowledge my presence, other than making my "Tray Bars" sequence through all the items, and actions on the bars, starting with Bar Number one, and traveling rapidly through them to the last bar/item slot.

If it's a "Temporary" Glitch, it has been ongoing for over 24 hours now!

Along with advising the make and model of the mouse and keyboard you use.

Does the cycling of hotbars also occur if you use the TAB key to highlight the captain?

Do you use any macros or 3rd-party software for managing your keyboard or mouse?

I use a G13 keyboard and G500 mouse with macros, but tried with the old "factory trac-ball mouse and standard board" set-up as well, with the same result.

The problem originated when I completed the Misery's Peak Quest, and stepped into the Portal to return to town.

The loading screen stayed up, and was still up after several minutes, which had never happened before. I was finally forced to exit and relog, where my Character (Fricko) was discovered to be located in Korthos.

When I approached the Captain at the docks for the end reward, she refused to acknowledge my presence, other than the standard "speech" about the Dragon preventing her from leaving for Stormreach, even though she has the green checkmark over her head to indicate quest completion.

On review, the "Cycling" of the Trays I spoke of is actually a "Blink", that activates all actions in the trays at the same time... with no cycle from one to the next after all.

I have completed other quests, with this and other characters, with no problem since this occurance, so I doubt the problem lies with my computer.

This character is still stuck with the balky Captain... while he has no problems with other quests, or other end rewards, nor do my other characters on the Khyber Server.

Also of interest... Misery was completed, green check over the head of Captain Rinar d'Thuranni... but it is still snowing in Korthos!

That sounds less like a technical issue - especially if it is only affecting one character accepting one specific reward.

Have you spoken to Amalgam after completing Misery's peak? Presumably Valeria can still transport you to Stormreach Harbour?

If Rinar is not giving you the end reward and Amalgam has nothing to say to you I would abandon the quest and re-do Miserys Peak.

I have checked, and know I can advance to Stormreach, and that I can "repeat" the Misery Quest, but it is clear that the Game AI is "confused", because it shows the green checkmark over the Captain's head, and a flashing yellow check at her location on my map, both indicating completed quest, but still showing it snowing in Korthos!

Fricko is just a level two Character, and can easily be re-rolled.

As Mechanic Repeater Rogue, he really needs the "Set" end reward, so re-rolling is my preference to the other options, but I'm waiting to see if it can be fixed by Turbine first for a reason.

I did not want to risk destroying "evidence" until a GM or Dev had a shot at troubleshooting the problem.

This is clearly a "Bug", and if it happened to me, it can happen to someone else just as easily... why not get it looked at now, and avoid a "Newbie" hitting this problem, and getting frustrated/angry enough to give up the game?

I have two other characters I can play for a few more days... but not forever!
