I believe that if you are a premium member, and have purchased at least 12 x VIP monthly cost you should get some of the VIP perks. I.E. if you have purchased (180* dollars) worth of points during the course of any year you should get some VIP beneifts. The ones I think would be fair are (10 base character slots, Login que time, buy back limit, auto log off time, Customer service, and beta priority.) I think these changes would be extemely fair beings the premium member paid just as much money as the vip, and obviously has the intent to purchase more during the course of the year.

Anyone have any thoughts, either agree or disagree?

If you want V.I.P benefits then be a V.I.P., the fact that all items quests etc bought with TP are free afterwards no matter how much money you spend more than makes up for the difference.

That is not how their VIP/Premium/Free Play architecture works. If you want VIP perks, then pay monthly instead of buying TPs randomly.

However, I would like to see VIPs become able to buy content that they already have unlocked when it goes on sale (see threads linked in signature below).

Premium =/= VIP and lets keep it that way.

You want to get the benefits of VIP then feel free to sign up for a monthly contract.


VIP is a perk for Turbine so they can plan on guaranteed revenues every month and they reward players for helping them do so. They may make more cash on premiums but they can only speculate on the amount of cash generated.

* = Math subject to current pricing information.If you have purchased 180* dollars worth of points during the course of any year, or just over all, you would have been able to purchase every adventure pack, class, race, shared bank, 6 extra character slots, and every other purchasable perk VIP gives you access to and still have loads of TP left over. Provided you waited for sales that is.

If you want to spend extra above and beyond that, purchase VIP and get those extra perks they pay monthly for.

The reason that VIP members get that benefit is because they are paying for a subscription. It's meant to be an encouragement to pay for a slightly less cost effective way to play. I would say VIP members should get more benefits than they do, though I still cant justify paying a monthly fee for how much I play the game.
