I was jumping for purple coins yesterday and there was alot of unpleasantness about how the coins were assigned to each member of the party.
Some people wanted to break group before each jump. Some people didn't want to waste the time. Some people wanted the coins redistributed after the round so everyone got an equal share.
Eventually we decided no breaking group, everyone keeps what they get. Then someone started breaking group before they jumped and rejoining to get some of the random distribution. Then things got ugly.
Please change this so you get the coin(s) you grab. I think everyone will like it much better.

Why are you grouping while performing a 100% solo activity? To chat? If so, try Vent or other 3rd party chat program.

The half pipe isn't exactly solo.

I assume he means the ice jump, not the half pipe, but I've been known to be wrong.

My guess would be that his group was not jumping, but more less floating off a platform above the half pipe...a less than noble means which was probably the reason they changed the system to begin with.

Sorry I was unclear. We were in the Bogwater jumping (or floating, whatever) down to the purple coin.
You have to be grouped to get teleported up to the top of the pillar.
I don't believe Turbine made this change because jumping from the pillar is "less than honorable". It is probably tied in with the other random loot assignments in some way. Not saying I know, just I believe.
It definitely created discord in the group I was in yesterday. Several people dropped group as soon as possible in disgust and some people got quite vocal. It did not foster group play or fellowship and many people did not have fun with their game time.
I would like it changed and I believe many other people would also like it changed.
On a side note: Sure jumping from the pillar is not as "noble" as using the ice ramps. But it is more expedient and I do not feel it is dishonorable. I send mad props to those that can do the ice ramps: you've achieved something I have not, yet. Kudos.

Some notes:
1. Coins weren't randomly distributed in past Ice Festivals, that was added this time. Presumably so that people doing the Bogwater Halfpipe the 'correct' way (with some party members on runes, some getting blown up) can share coins more fairly.
2. Update 8's release notes (http://compendium.ddo.com/wiki/Release_Notes_Update_8_Official#Items) said:
Bracelets of Friends can no longer be used in the Risia Ice Games.
What this means exactly is unknown. The Greater Bracelet of Friends still functions as it always has in the Bogwater and can still be used to port people up to drop down and get purple coins. I've submitted exploit reports and PM'd Tolero for a response if using the Greater Bracelet of Friends in this way is now forbidden, but got no reply. Others have posted about this use on the forum without being censored or warned.
3. Just have the teleporter party leader note on a sheet of pater or spreadsheet when each person gets a purple coin (since you can see the log for anyone in party but yourself), and charge 1 or 2 coins per 10 coins received instead of per 10 jumps. Then, each member is paying the same rate. They may not end up with the same number of coins each, but they should be reasonably close. I was very impressed with the leader that ran it this way.
