This quest is a right royal pain.
The end loot is definatly not worth me running it again.
If you changed it even slightly so say wave 4 and 5 have a chance to drop chrono scrolls and final chest has a chance th drop chrono seals it would make this very hard quest much more apealing.
Just my 2 cents.
cheers

It gets far more managable, and fun, with the right players and the right strategy. Don't give up on DA Epic, the frenetic pace sets this apart from other epics.

But still, rewards are worthless.
Meeles can get temprorary improvement for their weapons, which is, IMO cool, but there is nothing for casters or healers. How can you make anyone to do hard and possibly resource draining quest, if there is absolutely 0 rewards for him?

The Shroud mats are nice. It would be a little nicer if the loot rolls were "loaded" and it was more possible to get Larges instead of silly Smalls and Mediums.
Its actually not all too difficult, provided people are good at what they do. Did a run with my friends in Supremacy the other day (Sarlona), and it was just another day in the park. High DC caster, Stunner monk, two melees dual-wielding Vacuum II GS... I was actually the back of the pack, a TR KotC dual-wielding GS Picks.
Still, it was a cakewalk. I'm not sure our healer even managed to get below half SP.
The rewards kinda suck if you had to scrape and claw your way through the quest. They're neat rewards, though, if doing the quest was.. well, I hesitate to call it easy, but not resource intensive.

So it was you who took my spot. :P I was supposed to run that day on my ranger but my GF distracted me at the last moment. RL > FL.
EDA is not a horror run whatsoever. Perhaps a bit time consuming depending on your pacing. We burned many SP pots in the first week trying to figure out the CC strategy, but now its a loot run... Can't take just any random 20 pugger in there, though. I like it how it is - it gives 2 tokens, boot ingredients, larges, etc. For being able to run it every day, it's solid loot. Personally, there are some quests that I'm OK if it doesn't give loot. I don't play the game to get fake loot, I play it to play. Loot is a side effect. EDA, to me, is a fun quest. I know a lot of people don't like it because they can't zerg it, but that's OK with me. I can zerg elsewhere.
Not that I'd complain if they added more dosh there, of course. :) Free loot is free, after all.

Sorry but any quest that drops two full dungeon tokens for 40 mins of work with a sub-par group is worth it IMO. The red slots and larges are just icing on the cake.

Divines and casters can take those weapon augments and sell them for a small fortune to the zerging powergamers that want them on their Epic SoS, Chaosblade, or whatever. Anyone can use Shroud Larges, and Dungeon Tokens are nice as well. The quest is only hard and resource draining if your group is weak or ill-composed also.

Well the quest is fun and intense I'd say. Definitely something I would not pug (especially on my healer)..... though it displays more than ever how silly any other melee class is compared to a stunning monk in epics.....

Oh? My fighter's Stunning Blow is 2~3 higher than the Stunning Blow/Fist DC rocked by the Monks I roll with. Especially with Freezing Ice/Earthgrab GS, I didn't realize that Monks were alone in the "causing auto-crit" department.

You must have not seen an Assassin III rogue with ToD set dual wielding Vacuum II's in epics. Go along with a caster running around with a dreamspitter and things are dropping like flies

lol didn't say that though Stunning blow is a 15sec cooldown and stunning fist is a 6 second cool down. Not saying other classes aren't useful it's just I've seen a lot of EDA lfms looking for monks only and for good reason.

Str-based monks take Stunning Blow because it works. Some have Blow and Fist (sounds naughty), but normally one value outshines the other.
As for Epic Devil Assault LFMs:
Lack of Party Leader Experience
Experience, but lack of intelligence
Low confidence in the caster
Would be the three reasons I'd expect to see such an LFM. I wouldn't mind at least one monk, as support, but 1 Healer, 1 Caster, and 4 monks is certainly not necessary to see a successful EDA.
But anyway, we're moving further and further from the topic at hand.

lol not trying to say your toons aren't good, it's just monks are a bit op in epics and it really shines in EDA since casters don't have the SP typically to spam mass holds, or the time to whack mobs with the dreamspitter.
How can we compete with 6s cooldown stuns?
Vacuum 2s are a good choice.
personally I follow the monk around and use a Woo woo stick on the mobs he stuns (with my fighter)
Earth grab picks are good too.
Stunning blow is probably the best alternative (though the CD is clearly a disadvantage)
*insert more later/ christmas party to attend.
Personally I find myself having to compete with the monks CC on my sorc (on occasion and not in DA) especially now that drow have near impenetrable SR.
