Okay I know they added new cool looking armor kits in the DDO Store but...

Can we get some more armor styles simply added into the game? Like for free?

Like you pull some robe and it happens to look like nothing you've seen before?

I would simply be happy if we could have the ability to swap appearances.

Let's say you got some ugly 16-level armor, but there is this really cool 4-level armor. Maybe place the two armors in the stone of change, mix, and the appearances swap.

If DDO wants a good way to encourage people to spend money to change their weapon/armor appearance, one thing they could do is take all of their current existing graphics of all weapons/armor, and allow them to buy a 'Traditional' kit that allows players to swap a weapon's graphics around for one use. Sometimes, when it comes to giving options to give new decorative appearances for objects, the solution can be to give more freedom in changing the design of a object rather than simply give new skins and say, "Ok, here you go, enjoy your new skins."

Of course, if we can purchase this kit, it is best that we are able to preview the skin we wish to put on the object before applying it in order to avoid foolish mistakes. Although to be honest, I think from the very beginning, we should be able to preview any skins that we are able to put on whichever object before we purchase it, because if a player can preview a skin change and they see something they like, they are far more likely to purchase the kit, thus adding to both player satisfaction and turbine profits.

(If I were to purchase a kit, it would most likely be to change my greensteel greatsword base design to reflect the Buster Sword from FFVII as close as possible...)

I think there should be color customization to the armor at least. Without a vast set of kits there will just be a ton of the same look running around and it still won't feel custom.

I can approach this from several directions, so allow me to do so:

Each new update comes up with new named items. Often, these named items have new skins, or at least interesting rehashing of old skins. The Frostflame Robe (http://ddowiki.com/page/Frostflame_Robe), for example, is our newest named robe, and if I recall from popping it on for two seconds is a mixture of DT Robes and something else, maybe Regalia of the Phoenix. A Red/Blue color scheme that matches the item's properties thematically. So, they're already doing what you're asking, adding more armor styles to the game for free.

Also, more armor kits will come out to the store, expect to see more P2P variation. Or rather, maybe this should be called P2C, pay to customize.

Or rather, maybe we should call this *Maybe* P2C, as armor kits are included in the new mechanic that allows store items to drop randomly from chests, unbound, tradeable, sellable, (maybe AHable?).

Also, I doubt that many have seen each and every skin for every robe/docent/light_medium_heavy armor in the game, named and non-named. But regardless of this point, the first two still stand strong.
