The Ashen is looking for low maintenance players who know how to have fun without causing any drama. Basically if you're chill and laid back, and willing to joke around (without being intentionally offensive) then you'll fit right in with us.

We have no real hirearchy, beyond the fact that our Leader is Fawna. Basically we're a guild that runs itself with little to no maintenance, and my main goal in expanding is to keep it that way.

We're an old guild filled with a variety of players that like different aspects of the game. We're currently at level 43 and are a medium sized guild... we also didn't get no small guild bonus at all when guild renown first came out, so we got to level 43 the hard way. :D

We don't care if you're new or don't know the game, we'll gladly offer you advice and tips. Our knowledge of the game is about as extensive as it gets... and we'll gladly pass it on to you.

We have players that play on all time periods... though you'll find alot of us online around 9pm EST to 5am EST.

Most of us play our high level toons, so we're probably not the guild your looking for if you want a static group of people to group with while levelling up. We are in the background giving advice and support though.

We currently run all raids, but there's no set times or dates, mostly happens when someone wants to lead one. Though we don't run guild exclusive raids, we're simply not large enough for that to happen.

We do reserve the right to remove you if you don't fit in though.

Anyways... feel free to contact a member of The Ashen if your interested... or myself, I'm usually on my toons: Milton, Trajanus or Yeats

Am glad to see more Ashen running 'bout DDO as of late. :)

Btw... have you the crown again? Last I knew was Nuckles got from our Toro who got from you?... seems somewhat a cycle?... Oh, and where may be the poet theme? I mean first come to mind be "Marcus Ulpius Traianus." Woot! my written Latin not not so bad - note the "i". ;) O' course never took such in school, grew up in Pop Pop Pádraig household – be a Judge, but he did love his literature. I read much he collected. Come forbid me take Latin in school he thought be 'kin to cheating so he told.

Ah, so I wish all Ashen friendship, fun and take leave with... felicior Augusto, melior Traiano.

I have special spot I log in and out of. And I often see "Sapheira" of The Ashen, or "Muleone" of The Ashen standing in front of me. :) Looks like someone else has a special spot too.

I kinda blew the poet theme at the server merge... the only two toons i logged into to make sure i kept their names was Yeats and Milton... so lost Poe, Lennon and Bowie. :(

Leadership of The Ashen went from Myself to Nuckles, from Nuckles to Torosar, from Torosar to Krish, and from Krish to Fawna... I look at those names and feel quite satisfied that The Ashen has always been in the hands of great people. Fawna is probably the best leader for this guild we've had... which says alot in an of itself.

Oh, I heard stories though... Free Fosters for everyone, and Roo's running rampant in the guild hall.

Yep, I'm a total fan of the short lived Torry reign! Although I still think you should have made me successor instead of Krishy :P

I'll throw my endorsement behind The Ashen as well. Great group of people with a deep, rich history and tons of game knowledge in many of its members. If you are a new and dedicated player looking for a guild, it should be one of four or five on Khyber you should consider.

Free Fosters for everyone

Is probably the best guild policy in all of Eberron. If you changed the thread title from 'now recruiting' to the quote above, we would be struggling to fight off potential guildies!

and Roo's running rampant in the guild hall.

There is no proof anywhere (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?p=1919262#post1919262) that I have ever been near a Kangaroo....

Thanks to those for all the kind words!

I remember I was there and saw the start of Toro's reign. :D Too bad I missed Krish's reign.

Hmmm... not sure, I bloody think being scarce while Krish in charge poise a good thing. ;)

You meant sitting around and about the taverns.

What is wrong with a nice guild-bonding pub crawl every now and then?

Ha ha, this all started with you anyway - you should never have pointed that crack out in the wall in Meridia!

I should probably try not to derail Milton's nice thread any further!

Check your PM's!

wasn't going to comment but....er Fosters?

um?

er?

too hard to explain my reaction here... um... although i'm guessing others are going to understand...

I don't know you guys well except that Quicktoe who mentored me, spoke extremely highly of you and I know that Fawna has been kind enough to answer my questions from time to time and ran with me on my very first Shroud as a healer for which I was very grateful. Awesome members = great guild.

Shh Mel, don't let them know why Fosters is exported but not drunk anymore here...

The Ashen members I have run with have always been competent and never caused any drama :)

Didn't you see the name "Krish" listed?

I miss all you guys, it was great fun. Personally, I always thought I was a better leader when I was second-in-command. I would probably say the same about Torosar. I'm really curious about the reign of Fawna. I might have to log in...

Happy Hunting!

I don't think you give yourself near enough credit. You just needed to outsource the parts of leadership that were not your strong suits i.e. navigating Zawabi's Refuge.

I miss all you guys, it was great fun.

I'm assuming a lot of you guys are located around Aus/NZ? I just started on Khyber, I have a level 6 WF and am interested in joining, but I live in New York, so it would be a shame if I never see most of the people in the guild when I'm on.

I think most of us are in the U.S, but were all over. Milton is on the west coast, I'm pretty sure Fawna is in the U.S. somewhere, we got a guy from India, myself I'm from Hawaii and I know we have a few east coasters too. From what I've seen, there's a bit more guild activity in the PST evenings.

We are NOT a very big guild. Most of our "members" are actually people who have quit and haven't logged in for 4+ years (although I've been assured that those people don't affect renown decay), so contrary to what myddo might tell you....

Also, we aren't as active as we once were, but that might be seasonal and/or being burned out from events, more than anything else. However, the guild is one that has basically been around since basically the beginning. One of our members has an active 25 point toon. We are helpful and knowledgeable even about obscure quests like CO6. (what's that!?)

We do have an open recruiting policy, in the sense that the only requirement is you are not a jerk. We don't have any silly application form that asks silly questions like "what can YOU bring to the guild." If you want to join, you can join. Just let one of us know and you are in.

Let me know in game or here and I'll invite you. A good way to know is when you play, look at the Who list and sort by guild and scroll to see if there's Ashen guild members online during your play time. You can see the characters I play in my sig.

If you are still recruiting, I have a character on Kyhber named Medicella who is very interested in joining the guild (again). I was in the guild a while back, but I had to leave due to inactivity. (I have become active once again!!)) Send me an in-game letter with the guild invite if you'll have me back.
