Every now and then I'll see a build that includes Halfling Hero's Companion in its buffs calculations. I've never been asked for it so I didn't spend points on it. I'm just curious to see who, if anyone does.
So, post your class split and whether or not you have it.
As for me: 16rog/3mnk/1ftr, no companion.

My halflings always take it to level 4.
Currently a frenzied barb, lvl 17
It's well worth at least 1 point imo unless you always solo, the 2nd upgrade is very nice too

I had it in my 18/1/1 Halfling Ranger build....but I took it out a few months ago. There just were not enough AP's to go around.
And most players don't know about it, and those who do know about it, are often surprised when they receive the halfling buff.
i have it to level 4 on my 20 fvs. do not have it at all on my melee halfling.

My Bard's first life was as a Halfling, and I had it for the longest time. I remember it being a lot of fun to use - I'd pop it, and I'd instantly see my strongest party member's performance skyrocket.
TR Monk + Bard Songs + Haste + Rage + Displacement + Halfling Companion? Oh yeah, it was like watching carnage incarnate.
Of course, that was before the PrEs got their second tier. I'd have to look to see if there would be any halfling Bard build now that still had the AP open to take it.

Have taken it up to the third one on my pure rogue, over Cunning+Guile III. The minor loss I suffer is nothing compared to the boost I can give another player for 5 minutes, or two players for 2 and 3 minutes. So far I like it, a lot, it's always fun to pop it on someone and a moment later, they get the agro of whatever you're beating on.
Usually use it on tanks, be it hate or intimi tank, there's some for all of them. It's just nice for killing aswell when there's no need for a tank, pop it on someone with very high attack speed or good crit range/multiplier and things get annihilated in no time.
Never bothered looking at it before picking it up a week or two ago, and it's great I think, even help keeping agro off myself should I get it.
Best thing is using it on someone that doesn't want agro and watch them get smeared all over the floor by charging cows hehe.

I have never used it. My halfling is a lvl 16 sorc. I really haven't played him much lately and he was my first toon so I made a lot of mistakes building however, at the moment there are a million things I want to spend action points on. Maybe I'll give it a try when I reset my enhancements since you all are saying how good it is but for now I haven't used it.

Got a halfling FvS who doesn't currently have it but is considering taking it. I think I may take it after all, seeing the responses here.

I don't have it on my pure halfling rogue (17). I've been saving up for the last level of subtle backstabbing, as I always run with my gf's Pally and seem to pull agro a lot more than I used to. After reading what Benne said, maybe I could spend those points on this and get better results.
