View Full Version : Make epic scrolls drops scale with number of mobs killed

Each mob you kill in an epic quest has a small chance of dropping a scroll. Many epic quest are done by invising and running by mobs and only killing what you absolutely have to. In order to encourage people to run the quest 'correctly' the chance of an individual mob dropping a scroll should increase as you kill more mobs. Say the drop rate is 1%. It stays 1% until you kill 15 mobs then it increases to 2%. Kill 30 mobs it increase to 3%, etc. The numbers could change depending on the quest.
You can completely clear von 1 and never get a scroll. If you take the time to kill all the mobs you should be rewarded with a higher scroll drop rate.

how about von3 has much higher drop rates than von 1?
People will just kite more mobs to safe spots and spend more time firewalling and not doing anything
drop rates should scale with the difficulty of that quest

/signed The more monsters you kill, the more likely a scroll should be to drop. Question is, when a scroll does drop, do the drop rates reset, or would they remain the same?
To add, why stop at just killing monsters? Why not also have the drop rates increased further as you disarm more traps? Or give a scroll to the party when they obtain the sneaky and devious bonuses? Things like that.

How about having scrolls in trap boxes?

this will just make easy epics more of a grind
please make the harder epics worth it, they are much more fun anyway

Not sure about the original suggestion because scrolls dropping form mobs instead of chests isn't the best to begin with
Not too on topic, but it think epic claw should drop a scroll or at least a chance of a scroll in the final chest if you get less than 3 kills (or 1 because only 1 is mandatory but 3 is better IMO.

I like this idea. The percentages could be directly tied to the conquest XP bonuses to make it easier to implement.
It also gives more incentive to run the long and grueling epics that are otherwise avoided.
