Ayup.
The fast and early swooped up the greedy, and shook out all sorts of shiny goodies!
Never fear the stupid are not as fast as the greedy but they will come....and some will buy.
I do love the holidays.
So much running around, shoving, yelling, ah the drama, my how i do love the holidays.
/now if we can get a good trampling in of some clerks it will be complete.

Dear that dude,
I hate searching. When I get to the first item of what I want with a buyout, it becomes mine no matter the price.

That's impressively lazy since both searching and sorting work on the AH now.

If you call a convenience for me lazy, then I'll be that.
A person can easily make 300k plat in a few hours of grinding the right quests. If you want to horde your plat fine, I'd rather be playing the game then searching the auction house even if searches are now viable.

Dear Suckers,
Yes you know who you are, last year when the games came out you were buying my dozens of purple coins for around 100k a piece. Thanks, I am still enjoying that plat.
Dear Me,
You need to remember to change the kitty litter today.

Don't get me wrong, I greatly appreciate the enhancements to the Auction House... but a very small part of me kinda misses the old days of mining the AH.
It was very similar to mining ore in Ultima Online. Click, click, click... [hours pass]... click... SCORE!!!!!

So your clicking buttons sitting on your ass at your computer to search the AH...and he's clicking buttons sitting on his ass at his computer NOT searching, and most likely grinding for plat, and playing the game.
How's one lazier than the other? Not sure here.

Dear Whippersnappers,
Back in MY day we dident have fancy schmancy ice damage, or plusses next to our armor. No we had to save up long and hard just for masterwork weapons, and people actually wore splintmail instead of vendoring it for a few pennies you will just blow on dirty kobolds like your generation tends to do. OH and when we died, we dident get to keep our precious pretty blue bar, nope god took it away from us and said "that'l learn ya to not wait for the rogue to disarm traps, or to let the barbarian zerg ahead!"

What makes you come to that conclusion?
See, you said you use the AH (but then said you're too busy playing the game to use the AH, so it's all kinds of confusing). You said when you use the AH, you just grab the first instance of the item you see. I pointed out that not taking the one second to type 'Purple' or 'Recipe 5/20' (or whatever) and then clicking on the Buyout column to sort from lowest-to-highest is pretty impressively lazy. I feel my observation is pretty well supported by your comments.
I can't really see how anything I have said would make you think I'm greedy.

Dear old guy...ddo's only been around for what? 4 1/2 years? I've been here for most of them. If it was that bad in the beginning right before I showed up...it only took months for it to change. I remember looting +1 items rather quickly.

Don't forget that we used to also get negative xp when you died! It even stacked so it meant something if you died! (spits into conveniently placed bucket) Also didn't have the fancy high haggle skills they got now, going in ta the 80's! We had to farm the giant caves if we wanted money.

Im just rimbling about being called lazy by someone who is greedy.
No seriously searching is like, type a word + 2 mouse clicks. There is seriously no conceivable reason not to do it. It's a laziness enabler. you save like 4 seconds doing it your way, tops, which you lose by farming plat that you could have not spent in the first place. I do agree with you though, your not lazy, you do allot more work than I would.

Eh, somewhat. At the beginning it was actually rather amusing how poor everyone was - I remember people walking around with curses for multiple days before people saved up enough money for a remove curse pot (or the poor suckers who got blinded, and couldn't even FIND the potion shop...). It took several levels before you'd pull anything Korthos-quality though, it was quite a long time before I found my first Holy weapon, and even elemental weapons were forum trade-bait. At the first level cap I remember trying to trade a +1 Cursespewing Longbow to Keensly and being a little hesitant to do so because it was such a good pull. I also decided to finish leveling up Henry because I had one of the 3-4 Paralyzers on the server at that point.
From what I recall, it took a year or so to save up as much as I can get in one average Shroud run now, so...yeah, I get pretty lazy when it comes to the AH too. Sure, I'll usually try to find the best bargain available at the time, but at the same time I can't really fault someone for not wasting a few seconds just to save 10k or whatever.

It's mostly about managing the time.
If I'm looking for a large scale and buyout first one I see, like you said I might save 4 seconds. When I'm looking for example of 10 things that saves me 40 seconds. It all keeps adding up. Now those 40 seconds I saved I could be doing something else more productive supporting my overpaying habit.
It's much like the lfm's you see for zerging raids so they can reach the next raid as fast as possible.
