As the title indicates i am wondering what the record time for leveling from level 1 to 20 is?
I've heard 8 days and i think that sounds quite easily beatable?

Really depends on who you're running with. A dedicated Completionist guild (Whispers (http://my.ddo.com/guild-argonnessen-whispers/) on Argo etc.) could probably grind out a level 20 in well under a week for a non-TR toon. Helps to have twink items from your other toons to make levelling painless.

No life? You could easily do it in 7 days or less.
Average nightly play? Easy to do in 30 days even for a tr.

When i was off work for an extended time, capping a fresh toon (not a TR), under a week, sure, but....... the burnout you have afterwards is a tangible thing, i really do not recommend it.
Whats more is, to keep that constant xp per minute rolling in you tend to become 'less then pleasant' in game, i'm generally a really fun guy to quest with, but after a level rush you really wouldn't want to come within 10 miles of any quest i'm farming for xp, it gets pretty ugly.
I'll probably do it again sometime *sigh*, i have holidays coming up soon, but it's something i really do try to avoid doing these days, it's really just not fun. (Was kinda fun the first couple times to see how far i could push it, but, that burnout thing was pretty ugly at the end of each level rush, no lie).

Search is your friend i believe there is some 3-5 days leveling documented for non-TR's. Around 24-30 hours of actual playtime. Also i believe those were made with only 10-20% xp bonus and with no xp bonus potions available from store.

I've done a non tr 1-20 I'n 3 days before. The fastest tr2 i have seen was done by nick (groan from unbreakable). In 5 days and he was quite grumpy if memory serves me right and didn't really seem to log off that entire 5 days. Coming up here soon well be tring again and were going to try and break his record w a 4 person party, should be not fun Lolz.

Fastest Ive heard was a TR2 in 5 days as well, or rather 5x24hrs. That was with XP pots but before guild airships iirc.
A guildie of mine has done a lvl1-16 in 2x24hrs I remember, but that was in the Pop 20K days.

I don't know, but it's sounding awesome imagining myself in a group with you on a tr2...

5 and 1/2 days for a double TR.
5 days for TR2. With no life. And making sure to get up extra early to make sure Teth is not sneaking in PLing with the Euros at 5:30 AM. (Sneaky bastage!)
Under a week for a non TR should be a given... WITH a life to go with it!

5 days 6 hrs I know this for a fact because when I tried TR right away the the TR guy told me to go away and come back in 1 day 18 hours. double TR by the way.

Ugh I can't imagine grinding so much every day, all day, for 5 days in a row. You guys are crazy!
My best was like 9 days for a TR2. Funny thing is, my most recent nonTR character took me about 3 months to level to 20.

Professional grinders aim for an average of 1000xp+/min.
If they can maintain that, its about:
30 hours of play time for a first life,
50 for a TR1,
72 for TR2
Add time for sleep and the occasional diaper change.

Here's a better view of the time taken this recent TR I chugged my first 20% pot as soon as I jumped into the first quest.
Used 9 pots on this TR with 3hours 30 left on the last one.
So conclusion
50hours 30mins spent actually questing,
4.379.500xp / 3030 mins
= 1445.37 xp / min
Note this is in a dedicated hardcore group, and lots of TR experience.

There are 2 measures of time here.
1. The first is In Game Time. I ran a toon to level 20 in about 26 hours of IGT.
2. The second is Real World Time. In RWT I ran this same toon to level 20 (No TR) in 26 days.
Some of us have a limited time to play. The Real World Kids takes about 18 years to level up.

I think I saw a post somewhere where someone leveled one in 14 years. But they were in one of those elite parenting guilds.

5 days here x2. Phalcon and I were well on track for a 4day tr2 but due to a combination of gal agro and simply running out of steam I slipped into day 5. It can def be done in 4 and hell maybe 3 with a 20% weekend on.
OP- trick number 1- make sure u take turns at piking and recharging the batteries. After the most recent tr I didn't want to look at my screen for a week.

aye 1000 used to be the benchmark we shoot for 1.5 on average now. I actually like the 5 day tr2 ... It's like medicine get it done and out the way as fast as possible.

Luckily for most of us, playing the 1-20 game is actually fun and not like taking medicine.
Interesting to know you hard-core guys get burned out too...
I did Deleras 2 and 4 eight times each in one night... I made 2.5 levels, but I couldn't play DDO for a week afterwards, so it actually slowed down my leveling speed... Since then I recognize my limitations, and avoid grinding any quest more than twice in a row.

I have a blast playing the 1-20 game when I'm trying out a new build or am playing a class/pre I havnt played before... When I'm tring purely for the past lfe benefit it's not as enjoyable. Those ones I take like medicine...but ya knw I feel **** good once it's done.
The first 5 day one I pushed myself to see how fast I could do it. The second was more for conveniance. I'm nowvon holiday out of town with my gal and her family and won't be playing for a couple of weeks. What better time to go through burn out?
Ya knw ur posts have become increasingly jaded of late. Maybe someones suffering from forum burnout.

you guys must really be insane to get to lvl 20 in 5 days or less
pretty hard for me to get that high if i can only get to 1-9 in about 12 hrs farmin with my non tr
when i reach that lvl 10 mark i want to get flaged for every raid pssible so i can get my hands on every loot thats helpful. :)
+ i havent made a green steel yet on any of my character and so i wanna farm the vale quest to do so since most of my characters are lvl 16-20 range i feel there isnt need since its not 12 as what i wanted to be
so yep (Insane people are above) (not me)

Lol. However they continue to be a plat drain long after that.

The fastest time will be dictated by Turbine and their +XP% events. The birthday event had a 25% XP bonus. Add in a continuous 20% XP pot, Voice of the Master, and a 4% XP shrine to drop a double TR's XP from 4.4M to a little over 2M.
Also, the class has alot to do with it. The completionist in our guild did a 5 day TR with a strong X/monk build, but spent an agonizing 10 days for his bard past life.

Gaming aside, this skill to just dig in and endure massive workloads in record time, at times, is a fantastic skill to transfer directly to RL as well and not just to deadlines in working life. Nice show of discipline Nick, thumbs up.

Only if your job is as mindless as this game is when played to maximize exp.
I doubt you'd turn in good work after 5 days of 18 hour grinds.

Thats half true, but after lets just say 5x18 hrs of deadline work, you've met the company deadline and are mostly pff the hook till next deadline date. In my line of work and many others, thats just the hard facts and how it sometimes have to be.
A hard job with that many hours CAN be very rewarding, and lets face it, its still semifun todo the leveling even if you've done it 100 times before. Same with hardass work, its still creative, usually. Unless ofc the work we talk about is picking bad samples of X of a conveyer belt or some job like that. I was thinking about work in the engineering biz or the IT biz where contracts and deadlines often shift around and for those lines of work, the skill to dig in and ignore the ****-i-cba-todo-this-yuck feelings and just grind through it, is an extremely rewarding skill to have and use.
No matter how interested people have been in their educations, most graduate people have had moments or even months like this back to back, to get their selfchosen thesis done and done well.

On sunday during the birthday event there was a 25% exp boost - to great shock, I spent this time on my TR train and starting from scratch we made it to roughly lvl 12 in approximately 18ish hours after we started - over 1 million exp (TR x2). this was also chugging 10% exp pots the entire time. I have also heard of some hardcore exp farming groups capable of netting this much exp without an exp bonus going on in roughly 12-14 hours - and by that math, makes it possible to do in 4 days, although I think i'd be pretty groggy after spending that much time on DDO in such short succession.
