So while farming coins today i realize something, i got 40 coins, no recipe 5s, its gonna be a while before my ranger gets that +1 hb ib of pg rapier. then, looking over the recipes, it also hit me that id probably have enough to afford to make a Glaciation IX item (for those of you who dont know, 5 of each 6-15).
Currently i am equipped with:
Head: Minos Legens
Trinket: Pale Lavendar Ioun stone
Necklace: +6 Con
Ring1: Rahkir's Ring
Ring2: Greater False life
Body: Regalia of the Phoenix
Belt: Rahkir's Sash
Boots: 30% striding
Bracers: Nothing important
gloves: nothing important
Main Hand: Staff of the Petitioner
Off Hand: N/A
i figured id just put it on bracers, but i might be missing some uber bracers that ive never heard of? If i get it on bracers, what kind should i throw it on?

i wouldn't put it on anything, personally. use a superior freeze clicky. it doesn't take up an item slot, and it gives a bigger boost.

Yeah I asked this last time, might help:
What item are you going to get Superior Glaciation IX on? (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=263127)

This.
But if I felt a major need (Or felt that Eladrin was going to follow up on his promise to make the item effects useful again.) I would go for some Superior Glaciation XI +30% striding guild slotted boots. While there are a couple good named/epic boots they’re not much of an upgrade on a caster.

so yeah, i had no idea about telvi's sash, but i also remembered something kinda dumb... i have rahkir's sash on, which gives superior efficacy VIII, d'oh
i might still put it on some bracers for kicks... theyll be directly better than bracers/gloves of bracer :], on that side note, i could also put this on gloves...

Don't put it on anything; there are no level 9 cold spells, so sup glac IX is a waste. Sup glac VIII isn't much better, but it's equally useful and less expensive. I'd put it on a major ice lore heavy pick, or maybe a sup pot VI weapon.

Unless it has changed from the previous recipes you can only put the glaciation upgrades on non-named weapons. So a major ice lore weapon, superior potency VI or whatever other weapon that will help out when casting ice spells up through polar ray.
Will have to double check that this hasn't changed but I would be very surprised if it did. Hope this helps!

but i have staff of the petitioner as my weapon :[, you cant de equip staff of the petitioner, it's too epic....
but actually this is probably the best idea, seeing as whenever im wanting to nuke i am not worried about mana or dcs...
also, you never know when turbine will finally introduce a level IX cold spell >:

You can put it on items as well that have lesser glac I or better, but you can't start the chain on an accessory. That said, I've only ever seen glac enhancements on rings.

Helms can also have the glaciation line, but then again who is going to want to give up either a ring slot or helm for glaciation VIII? ;)

I have superior glaciation IX(if they ever introduce cold spells that high level, plat is no problem so why not?) on Superior Potency VI. It's good for casual nuking combined with skiver. If it's nuking and long-lasting, I use blue dragonscale(greater arcane lore) and staff of the petitioner combined with +75% and +100% clickies.
Gonna go for noxious embers once I pull it(finally :() so I can use whatever robe I want and staff when I nuke but with raids on normal I often find myself using sup glac IX/superior potency VI and skiver.
I wouldn't put it on major lore because my plan is to get rahkirs ring so I can have major arcane lore. Then I can use shield with this glac weapon. :)
It's very useful weapon when doing TRs to get +50% polar ray boosts without using whole glacial set.
It's late and I'm tired so I'm not sure how good grammar I use now. Hope this helps.

I put mine on a one-handed Major Ice Lore item.
Even though my Amrath belt gives a much better (until there is a level 9 cold spell) Superior Freeze VIII effect, I like having it around in case I forget or don't have time to activate the clicky.

This.
From the first time that the ice games allowed Superior Glaciation IX to be possible, I've had it on a ML:8 Major Ice Lore Item. Saved the Motes, saved the recipes, pretty much made it as soon as was humanly possible.
Low min level = Good for TRs!
Weapon set = Easily swappable!
Maybe there's a mob, almost dead, that I want to hit with a Polar Ray. I want to just... hit the dang ray. I don't feel like swapping belts, hitting the clickie, swapping back belts, then hitting the button to drop a single mob.
The Belt clickie is good for boss battles, or other times where I know I'm just going to stand there, dumping massive amounts of SP on deeps. The scepter is good for general purpose ray here, ray there, back to work.
Also, on the whole "Ring" thing...
I have an Improved Glaciation I Ring, no Minimum Level.
Actually... I *had* that Ring. Now, as of last night, that ring is Superior Glaciation VIII, No Min Level, Unbound.
If I ever decide to make a Wizzy to compliment my Sorc, I now have a ring that will compliment my Niac's/Frost Lance/Cone of Cold/Polar Ray, all the way until I hit Amrath. If I decide to TR the Wizzy a few times, its still a powerful item to swap in for Cold-Based spells on each life until level 18.
So... yeah. Maybe the Ring/Helm idea isn't End-game appropriate for most, its still not a bad idea to craft one if you enjoy crafting, or the Risia Games, as much as I do.

yeah i have the advantage of the rahkir's sash sup potency VIII clicky which is always on, but as some people pointed out, it could be a good low level equip, i am probably going to add it to a potency item because i do plan to tr

Did I just read that there's a clicky that can give Sup Glaciation VIII + that would be great for my polar raying sorc who has horrible KIT, and only runs Shroud to farm stuff for toons with use. (feel free to PM me where, how and if I can get these "clickies")
Thanks!

put it on a lvl 8 or 10 major ice lore sceptor. keeps it same level and makes the item real nice. was cone and ottil. for pretty decent damage as soon as i was able to cast it.
as far as making it up to supp glac. IX theres no need for it that high now but ya never know.

Put it on a min lvl 8 major ice lore scepter, till you get your amrath clicky. I think you'll be ok without your staff for 2 seconds..
For shroud, run your ice scepter and scrolls.
