Some other people may already do this, but I thought I would mention a fun thing I like to do in-game.

If anyone gets a Potion of Wonder in a chest, everyone in the group rolls on it. Winner MUST drink it immediately.

Sometimes you get a nice Rage boost. Sometimes you get Disintegrated.

I never make anyone roll on it if they don't want to, but most people think it's a great idea. Of course, TRs in the group hate the idea if there hasn't already been a death in the run...:D

Give I a shot if you haven't already. It's like a no-consequence version of Russian Roulette.

Now, the REAL fun is when someone gets a stack of 5 at once and winner has to drink all of them...

LOL! They come in stacks of 5s, but yet I cannot force them to stack in my inventory?! Lame!

Our guild might have to adopt this method. :D

I always drink them as soon as I pick them up, much to the dismay of my cleric hirelings. My favorite so far was the Burning Blood spell that I won a saving throw on from a WW rares chest. :D

We don't roll...we just drink. LOL

I picked this up some time agoa and this is what my wife and I do...even on TR's. On my capped FvS I still run Raiding the Giants Vault a lot, and I regularly pull Potions of Wonder from the named Mephit/Gargoyle area.

I will say...I make sure I have Deathward or a Deathblock item, and it has saved me three times! hehehe

This is not a game; it is a rule.

If you find a Potion of Wonder you must imbibe the potion immediately and suffer the consequences.

Violations are subject to severe sanctions. Beware.

...it is a rule that must be obeyed. As Hafeal stated, the person who picks up the potion, must imbibe said potion of wonder immediately!

Failure to do so will result in being consumed by "the Cube"!

I usually do that regardless even soloing lol. Me need inv space! :P The DC on the negative spells are really low so if it's like blind or something, I think a 22 save roll will do it last time I rolled my way out of it. If I'm not mistaken, they also have to bypass SR too :P So chug them suckas!

I prefer not to lose the deathless XP bonus just for the sake of chugging a potion.

this is truth.
tis a longstanding tradition if you get one in a chest you drink it . . . immediately, no waiting
til you get near a shrine or anything . . . loot it, drink it. regardless of situation, it keeps the
loot gods happy with you.

Guild rule - all Pots of Wonder must be drunk immediately when picked up in quests. All pots of Wonder must be bought when found on the AH ( I personally reimburse members for this expenditure) and then brought to Friday nights Guild meeting, where they are divvied up and consumed while dancing ( tis usually take splace in the Open Palm Inn)

That's the best part, drink enough and everyone gets the Kool-Aid.

A friend of mine once got Word of Recalled out of a Shroud.

This idea does not sound fun to me. I like to play against the game, and the potion of wonder seems to me like a trap. "Drink me and something good might happen." And then in fine print "You also might die." It's not even a calculated risk. I never need anything helpful the potion might provide so I'm just risking my skin for nothing.

But hey, if that is what you like to do, who am I to judge? I'm all about the belief that everyone plays this game their own way. So more power to you. Just don't expect me and those who think like me to participate. As long as you don't force people to do it I have no problem with it. I wouldn't even object if I play a TR in your group. That 10% bonus isn't THAT important to me.
