After noticing a conversation in general chat earlier today regarding spell pen, I decided to check my lvl20 wizard's current spell pen and found that I was spending 6 ap's to get +2 to my spell pen. It seems that spell pen I & II enhancements are not stacking for a combined +3.So my question is this, I run alot of epic content and raids and I am curious if my current spell pen without the enhancements (+24) would suffice or is the extra +2 from enhancements neccessary. Currently my spell pen is +20(wiz levels)+2 (spell pen feat) +2 (Greater spell pen feat)+2(Wizard Improved spell pen II)=26. I can get to +28 using a spell pen VII item for level 7 and below spells,or back to 26 if I respec and remove the spell pen enhancement.

that depends. how much does watching your spells fail before the target even tries to make a saving throw bother you?

it's not *horrible*, but i do think you'll get use out of the spell pen enhancements. i know on my sorcerer, when i had +29 there were mobs that had enough spell resistance that it blocked my spells occasionally. it certainly wasn't all the time, but it happened often enough that i wished i had more spell pen.

Guess Im wondering if the 6 ap's spent for +2 spell pen would be better spent for a fire/cold crit multiplyer of 2.25 and 9% crit chance on fire/cold.
