just to make favor grinding as fast as possible.
What is the fastest running character possible with vet status? no monk, warforged, half orc/elf, I just don't own those.
thank you
I should note that all the favor runs are happening with the help of a high level character, so the favor character does not need to do anything but run from one quest to another

Ranger or Barbarian with Sprint Boosts
Prob Human barb+dragon mark for expeditious retreat and sprint boosts

And a past life with a House P trinket to get around Stormreach faster.
If the toon is for favor grinding, delete and repeat, 1 ranger 3 monk, half elf. You get the perma speedboost from monk, the speed boost 5x per rest from ranger, and the dilletante wizard + stacks of expeditious retreat scrolls from half elf will give you a ghetto 20% striding. Those scrolls are dirt cheap.

This is what i'd go with. Barb is probably a better choice due to the built in 10% striding not to mention the useful DR.

Good going dude.
No half-elf or monk.

barb + wizard
15% barb natural run speed + sprint boost +exp retreat = fastest toon
period

No half-elf or monk.
not to mention it is still slower than a barb wizard

Ranger with Sprint Boost and expedicious boots is pretty fast. Maybe only behind a barb with same gear and boosts.

My favorite is Human Barb 1 / Cleric 3 (or Anything 3) with Lesser Mark of Passage (exp retreat 3 x 4 min per rest) and 5 x Sprint Boosts per rest.

The same + 5% sprint can be achieved with a barb 4 with passage dragonmark. Barb 4 opens up sprint boost 2 while human still allows expeditious retreat. Just a small difference though, not the end of the world.
Then level 4 wizard. Haste scrolls. Build str into it for melee.
And buy half elf and monk, heh.

monk @ lvl 4 will only have 2.5% over haste/P-trinket
barb @ lvl 4 will have 10% over haste/p-trinket
ideal would be 3 monk / 1 barb (but this doesn't work hehe)
ranger doesn't even compete b/c it's limited to only boosts

Or half-elf.

thanks for the replies.
Since this toon gets deleted once he/she hits 100 favor, does not make sense to me to buy any of the races or classes I do not have already..
A human Barb with sprint boost II and least mark of passage works very well for my needs. Thank you

I should note that all the favor runs are happening with the help of a high level character, so the favor character does not need to do anything but run from one quest to another
In that case have you considered just lvl 1 human barb with least mark of passage. You will run slower , but you save time on levelling the veteran to lvl 4 on ship ,taking enhancements and gear.
If you need it you can get the sprint boost after completing a single quest to get to the next rank

How about this ,
a halfling orcelf yes half horc half helf or is that a hoe ?;)
I say either pure barbarian or pure arcane. If you never did it, go pure on all classes first, to get a feel of it all.

The same + 5% sprint can be achieved with a barb 4 with passage dragonmark. Barb 4 opens up sprint boost 2 while human still allows expeditious retreat. Just a small difference though, not the end of the world.
so it's not till you reach Barb 4 that you can get sprint boost II ? I guess I could have looked on the character planner :o
it was always a habit for me to get barb at least barb 1, just to get the vet set, but I never thought of human w/DM of passage, kinda makes the boots useless, never needed, and may wan the rogue vet set instead, for the extra AC, but the barb set does get ya 1 point more in Str and Con.
I think I'll try that Barb 4 now :D

Human ranger 4 is best.
Because:
Longstrider
Expeditious Retreat (dragonmark of passage)
Sprint Boost II

Longstrider doesn't stack with Exp. Retreat.

I'm thinking that a halfling sitting on a tower shield might be easiest if you can convince the higher level character running the quests to drag you tied to his belt loop?

I think most ppl don't get the OP question.
Think she's asking for a class that favor grind the fastest for TP, not actual run speed.. Tho thats ofcourse a factor in fast quest completions.
With that in mind, doing something silly like going human for a expedious retreat dragonmark is a failure.
so id recommend Dwarf Bbn4
Feats:
1 THF
3 Power Attack
Weapon: Maelstrom/Carnifex
Enhancements: Sprint, Dr boost (invincibility button at these lvls) Axe Damage, Extra Rage, Extend rage, Power rage, some power attack, con or hearty rage
Why Dwarf over Human:
Wasting feats on stupid dragonmarks is dumb, and results in a character that kills far too slowly to grind favor at a good rate, as elite low lvl quests can still be challenge at lvl4, especially on a gimped toon with dragonmarks.
And since expedious retreat is really freaking easy to get on clickies (Korthos is flooded with them on named items, it really does not matter.. Not to mention lvl4 is enough to chug haste pots which oddly people haven't mentioned)
- Axe dmg = awesome with maelstrom/carnifex. For most kobold quests, maelstrom can 1 shot most things on a non-crit, meaning you dont need the carnifex (as its base dmg is lower, but crits more often), tho for bigger hp targets like ogres or hobgoblins, the carnifex is nice
+4 AC vs giants - eg ogres.. probably one of the most common foe to crush noobs on elite harbour quests.. So it actually can help in this case.
Dwarven spell resist - Kobold shamans curses and lightning bolts really hurt on elite - saving against them can save your life.
goblin hatred - +2 attack against goblin.. Very useful if you do tangleroot or irestone.
Dwarf is really the best low lvl race since its gets so many useful bonuses for low lvls.
Vs human, who get no real good bonuses other then the feat, which at this lvl cant get you much. Maybe stunning blow, which is rarely needed on such low lvl content that dies too fast to notice the stun.
anyways thats just 1 good idea.
There's lots of lvl4 vet builds for this purpose floating about, do a search.

No, OP is literally asking the fastest character to run between quests while a higher level completes them.

It's not part of the OP's question, but for a short while it was possible to create Barbarian Monks.
Barbarian 1/ Monk x with Pendant of Time and Barbarian Sprint Boost active was the fastest possible character in the game outside of Abundant Step/Leap of Faith.
