So - I was rummaging through my bank toons to see what sort of laughable rubbish I had seen fit to squirrel away, and I found a Dusty Rose Ioun Stone - problem is I looted it ages ago, before Ioun stones got made useful - I was wondering, is there some cunning in game way of bumping up the old fashioned ones and making them into shiny new ones. As per the whack it in an altar with a scroll thing they once did.

I had a Vibrant Purple Ioun Stone, old version. Put it into the Stone of Change. Stone of Change spews out an error: unknown item.

Darn - putting it in the stone of change by the bank just produces a failure. Possibly because the item has some permanent damage on it. Who knows. I assume it's just trash, then?
