To Whom It May Concern;

I am very frustrated with a recent event where I submitted a trouble ticket.

First here is the situation:

I made a Fighter/Paly toon to take advantage of the New Dragon Mark of Finding. I use Ron's Planner to plan this build and set my enhancements.

While leveling I noticed that my enhancement points were growing.... "hey time to go and spend them.... ok says here I need to take Improved Jump II..... hrm.... NOT AVAILABLE.... ok, maybe I don't have enough levels... or spent points ... ok np I'll wait till next level."

So now my build is 4 Paly/ 3 Fighter... that has to be enough....?? Right? Well apparently not.. So I spend AP's on things like extra smites, more mana, untill I've spent 23 AP's..... (and YES I had Improved Jump I already)... still not available??? WHAT? Oooooook, I check the show unavailable check box.....and according to the enhancement here are the prerequisite:

Costs 1 AP Ok I have 3 AP now!
AP Spent Prerequisite: 11 Ok Spent 23 AP!
Available to level 4 humanWell I'm a Level 7 Human!
Requires Improved Jump I Yep took this enhancement back on level 1? 2 maybe!

HRM what to do.... ok I will submit a trouble ticket.......

This Char is trying to select an enhancement and it is not available. The enhancement I am trying to take is "Improved Jump II". I am a Human, 3 Fighter 4 Paladin. I have Spent 23 enchancement points, one of them being on "Improved Jump I". I have 1 point to spend and the enhancement is not available for me to take at all. When I check the "Show Unavailable" box it displays the enhancement in grey text. According to the enhancement it costs 1 AP, AP Spent Prerequisite: 11, Available to level 4 human, Requires Improved Jump I. Thank you for your help.

Now I stayed on that build and decided to run D's Tomb... yea fun... about 10 min later mid battle I get a notice at the top of my screen..... Being the I was mid battle I did not get to read the notice.... once the fight was over it was gone but I did notice an Icon under my buffs... Hover over and it informs me that my ticket has been updated... Oh? Wow no tell? Ok! I look at the Ticket and notice that it has been closed and below was the reply from the GM:

Insert Frustrated Colorful Language.

This did not help me, nor did it solve my issue as it, even after the patch, is STILL not available for me to take the the enhancement.

And to the trolls that are about to flame this post.... yes after several days of thinking about this issue, perhaps I should have submitted a bug report.... however that does not help my situation... I need to spend my AP's in a certain order.... and I can't.

So to the Devs, please look into why this is not working (if it truly is not working) and to Turbine, please take 5 minutes to discuss with your GM's that while they may deal with players that may or may not deserve to be hit with a stupid bat, they should treat everyone with some respect. I really feel that my frustration and thus this post could have been avoided with a simple tell from the GM. (Again for the trolls I work in IT and have to deal with the "I typed in the correct password but it is not working?" Me: "Turn off the caps lock!" type of users!)

I know this is not really the point of your post, but you do realize that resetting AP is a very simple process, and only costs plat? Have you tried resetting and trying again? If THAT does not work, then there may be a bug.

One possible explanation is that you took Fighter or Paladin Jump I (not entirely sure they are available to both) instead of Human Jump I...

Try resetting your enhancements and respend your action points, and be sure to take Human Jump, not Fighter or Paladin.

While I understand your point and frustration I urge you to reconsider taking jump. DON'T DO EEET.

Fairly certain there no such thing as "Human Jump" Its just "Improved"

You need to qualify Class wise BEFORE Race Wise. Its availaale to ALL races, but only SOME classes. at Level 4.

Paladin is NOT one of those classes.

Fighter is. So you have"Fighter" improved Jump 1. You can take Improved jump II at FIghter level 4.

WAI.

Improved Jump II
Usage: Passive
Cost: 1 action point
Spent: 11 action points
Requires All of: Improved Jump I
Classes: Barbarian Level 4
Bard Level 4
Fighter Level 4
Ranger Level 4
Rogue Level 4
Monk Level 4
Favored Soul Level 4
Available to Favored Soul class level 4
Available to Monk class level 4

Note: No Paladin available.

Available to level 4 Drow Elf
Available to level 4 Dwarf
Available to level 4 Elf
Available to level 4 Half-Elf
Available to level 4 Half-Orc
Available to level 4 Halfling
Available to level 4 Human
Available to level 4 Warforged
Grants an additional +1 bonus to your Jump skill, bringing the total increase to 2. Requires 4 levels in a class that possesses Jump as a class skill.

I wonder how long that would have taken a customer service rep to explain (in respons to the OPs ticket)?

I wonder if the GM has actually tried going to the link they provided and search for 'Improved Jump II'.

I did and was unable to find any info on "improved jump".

A search for "Improved Jump II" or "Improved jump" gives no results (if you search for the entire string).

All searches for 'enhancements' eventually linked to this page DDO Store Promos... (http://www.ddo.com/index.php?page_id=339&menus=e&do=enhancements&cmi==6&siid=18)

Not exactly helpful....

Impaqt is quite correct you need to take fighter level 4 first before you can take Improved Jump II

First, Thanks to all for the replies, I would have replied sooner but apparently tracking this post was not working...

Next, I did think about that after looking at Ron's latest release (needing fighter 4) however then 1) the GM could have nicely told me that, and 2) the Devs need to fix the in game description of the enhancement as noted in the op it states "Available to level 4 human" Which was why I placed the ticket in...

As for respecting no have not tried that as my first thought when i was trying to get it was "I need 11 points spent, and I have exactly 11 spent.... hrm... let me spend some more willy-nilly"

I will be taking fighter on my next level so I will wait till then to say the system is completely broken... But even if it is supposed to be Fighter 4.... the "In game text" Needs to reflect this.

This does not strike me as something a GM should help with. They are not meant to be explaining how the game works. The forums do that very well, as this thread shows.

Doesn't the description of the enhancement have this text as well: "Grants an additional +1 bonus to your Jump skill, bringing the total increase to 2. Requires 4 levels in a class that possesses Jump as a class skill."?

Also, just in case, if you check the box to see the unavailable enhancements they show the requirements you have in green and the ones you are missing in red.
You can thus look up what you are needing or lacking.
This was the case on update 7 when all your skill enhancements were removed for the new version, they showed red again.

Rons Character Planner is NOT an official DDO tool. An error in the planner is something that needs to be corrected on Rons side, not something that DDO GM's have any responsibility for.

As awesome as Ron and his planner are, they are not perfect.

I dunno....

One of the things that has always attracted me to D&D type gaming is the rules transparency. I don't necessarily think that the GM should be responsible for this type of information, but I do think that the in game tools can be improved on.

What what what?!?! Bite your tounge! :D

I'll check and see if there is an issue with the planner wrt the new skill enhancements. I thought we had those working right, but you never know what bugs might creep in when you aren't looking.

Ron. I'm not saying that your planner was wrong..... I said that after looking at the latest planner the Improved <Skills> required 4 levels of a class.... but the IN GAME text states 4 levels of HUMAN... So I think I need the 4th level of fighter to get it but not sure......

i had a similar issue, it took a little digging but in the description of requirements you see that you need the actual level in the class of which the class skill is. the description of prereqs could be better, and i am sure it will eventually be updated

things like this should be obvious, i mean why would u even take that skill in the first place let alone do it on a multiclass that the highest one doesnt even get the skill in question as a class skill! sorry to the OP for wasting a lot of time on this but Ron's planner probably said you could do this cause you were putting in enhancements at lvl 20 where at 20 you do meet all the requirements, im sure if you tried to buy it at lvl 7 on the planner it would not have worked just like in game...
