Since being unable to receive a reply using other channels, I feel i need to post here.
Like many others, I was surprised to receive a nasty email being accused of taking advantage of an unknown coding error. This is all well and good but being told that you did something, however, we are not going to tell you what it is, but never do it again, is not an effective communicative or disciplinary strategy.
I am a relatively new player started playing about nine months ago. Since then I have played countless hours and days with the occasional real life responsibility being put on the back-burner.
What has attracted me to DDO is that I have enjoyed playing D&D for twenty six years now and the belief that in MMORPG form it should last for many enjoyable years to come. I'm not one to jump to the next hottest game, play it for some time and move on. My intention was to concentrate my time and energy to something that I know I can enjoy without fear of it fading away when the nest big thing comes along. However, I now may need to rethink this...
Clearly the way this has so far been handled has not at all been comforting. It's disturbing to me how easily a company is willing to accuse without basis its customers and threaten to cut ties without valid explanation. I know the TOS and I know it is within the business rights to do so, however I did expect more of a good faith effort. Whether it matters or not I am a paying VIP customer.
So now my account has been permanently flagged as being a cheater, and there is no way of knowing how many more chances if any I may get by doing something I should not be doing, yet only finding out what that is by using trial and error. I ask myself, why should I continue playing when there is a high degree of certainty that my account will at some point eventually be banned due to doing things I have no idea I should not be doing?
With loss of confidence in your company, please answer this...
1.Are you willing to reverse any derogatory information on my account?
2.What assurances do I have that I will not be banned on future baseless accusations?
3.What have you done as a business to better handle or prevent such an issue with derogatory account flagging from not happening again?
I am not looking for refunds or turbine points, its not about compensation. It's about regaining confidence and not waking up one day after potentially spending years building characters to find they have been erased. If this post is erased, then i have my answer.
Thank You.
