Wow only three response. Not sure what that is an indicator of?

I guess good odds for those very few to win, and a bit disappointing for them to have made the effort and then extended.

Good luck

Crazy question related to this.

I've done some video editing/posting in limited amounts, using FRAPS to capture the raw data.

I've posted them on Youtube (http://www.youtube.com/user/connlaoi?feature=mhum), but as you'll notice, I have these huge black borders. I've been using Windows Movie Maker or whatever that comes with Windows live to convert the huge raw .avi files I get from FRAPS down to something manageable, but the borders are always there.

Tolero, I know your movies made you pretty famous way back when. What software would you recommend I use for video editing?

Looks like your encoding resolution doesn't match your input resolution.

What is your capture video resolution and what is your output resolution?

What video resolution you using if I may ask? Also is your FRAPS recording at Half size? When viewing the RAW .avi file does it have the borders before editing? All I can see from that is youtube and WMM is that it's trying to fit it all into set space.

To bad FRAPS likes to output huge RAW avi's or I would ask for your raw footage and try to work it from there. Also need to get a new screen, 4:3 screens are highly unpopular now and I have to deal with the side bars on all my videos in order to keep there HD settings.

I am really glad you like it! For some reason I feel like it's unfinished and needs more polish. Also I had a sore throat during the voice recording which made my voice really deep and would not allow me to reach my full range of voices. I had a really killer voice for the veggies but that could not be done because of the cold. I need to compile a list of things I would like to see done for video makers in DDO. I know these are at the top of the list: Release of all 3D assists and models(Never going to happen) and the ability to toggle the little circle in the middle of screen during mouse look.

To answer the both of you, 1920x1200 Capture Resolution, Full Size, 30 FPS. No bordering on the FRAPS avi. Totally clean.

The highest res Windows Movie Maker will do is 1080P. So yes... I get that there should be borders, because the dimension ratio doesn't match. Still... wouldn't that make borders on vertical or horizontal, not both?

This starting to go beyond the topic of this thread, so I will ask my last few questions to you TheDearLeader and anything else we can do in a different topic or PM's.

Try a recording in the lowest resolution DDO offers you and then do the post production. I think it's the program trying to keep the aspect ratio to the raw footage. For some reason it's shrinking the footage to half of it's normal size to fit into a neat little box.

Youtube and Windows Movie Maker uses a 16:9 as you use a 8:5 (16:10) which is bigger height wise to the 16:9.
In order for the movie to fit nicely it smashes the 8:5 into a 16:9 which leaves a space under the image and to the side of the image.

So try a few tests in smaller resolutions and play around with the settings in WMM. If all else fails look for a free video editing program and try to get the video to stretch to the aspect ratio. *shrug* I have problems as well when I do renders because I use the old 4:3 ratio and so I get bars on the side of my movies.
