I was wondering if there is a way to make a sorceror based aroud curses or dots as ive called them in wow? I think being able to watch your opponent die from a buch of curses is just a cool idea and wanted to know if it was possible before i made one

plz think about your aswers i'm new to ddo and I really dont like people attacking me :P

Nope.

There are a number of curse type debuffs, but you won't be killing anything with them.

Oh, and if you won't want to be attacked, I'd suggest avoiding wow comparisons, it makes some people grumpy :p

Welcome to the DDO :)

Welcome
The only "dot" i can think of is melfs acid arrow,
and its better to play ddo like how you would play ddo not like how you would play wow
(they are quite different ;).....)

Lol true, don't talk about WoW or you'll start a thread of people complaining about it :D.
Agree with the second reply, Melfs Acid Arrow, very annoying spell when its cast on you lol, use it with enjoyment and watch your opponent slowly take acid damage til they DIEEEEEEEEEEEE.

Welcome to DDO, hope you stick it out long enough to get past level 1 it's a great game.
(Used level 1 reference as someone in Korthos was complaining in general that he was bored on his VERY first level 1 Paladin)

No need for DoTs, when you can use Insta-Kill effects.

Phantasmal Killer, Finger of Death, Wail of the Banshee.

Well there is one other "DOT" and its around a lvl 4 or 5 spell, burning blood, acid and fire damage over time. But most mobs save alot even with Evocation Focus and Greater Evocation Focus so it's useless IMHO.

DoT spells are not used that much in DDO by the players as most mobs die very quicky so the "oT" is laregely wasted. that said AoE-DoT spells like firewall (!!!) and acid cloud are used fairly often.

So, since dotting and cursing is basically out for you, may i suggest greasing and burning? I've just started a sorcerer, and putting down grease and lighting it up (and then trying to get out of the way whilst everyone else burns!) is A LOT of fun. Reflex and balance are good to have some skill in though, to stop you from slipping, and if you do, staying down too long. :)

People appear to be forgetting DDO's biggest DOT, wall of fire.

In other games you use DOTs to AOE grind mobs just like you would in DDO.
