Hey, I just got Drow, and I want to make a Sorcerer haggle bot (is there a class with haggle as a class skill?). I'm thinking because I will have such a high CHA that control should be my primary role, followed by dps, and finally buffs. I am open to other builds as well, but I think this toon would be most effective as CC (please share your thoughts) because my DC to resist would be so high.

For my stats I'm thinking 10, 14, 10, 12, 8, 20. For skills I want UMD, haggle, and concentration maxed, with one rank in tumble. I'm not sure about spells or enhancements (I don't have the character builder), as this would be my first sorcerer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

2 classes have Haggle as a class skill - rogues and bards. Bards also have an enhancement line that gives them more haggle.

Edit - with your focus on control, Virtuoso might be a good bard choice for you, or spellsinger as well. Bards can get decent melee DPS as well, and of course bards are great buffers.

Ah. This takes me back to when I TR'd my Sorc when she was level 17 and gave her more haggle. Much better bargainer now, in addition to being a wonderful Necromatic farmer for my other toons. ^.^

I can tell you precisely what you need to do.

8/10/14/12/8/20

Try to get a +2 Intelligence at level 7, so you can start to acquire 4 skill points per level. Your focus:

Concentration, Haggle, UMD. Balance starting from level 7 after intelligence tome consumption.

I also fell into the beginners trap of thinking that as a Drow Elf (in keeping with the theme of spry elves), that somehow it'd be a good idea to have more Dex. Believe me, given your selection of spell choices, you will not require dexterity in any means, shape or fashion. Your reflex save sucks no matter what you do, and as for Armor Class, well, that only matters if you can push it upwards of the 60ish level. A true dex based build is required for that (or wis based monk). For everyone else, damage reduction is the main means to mitigate harm.

As a caster, Blur, Stoneskin, Displacement, Fireshield, and good ol Resist Energy will keep you alive, in addition to your collection of divine wands and scrolls. Don't worry about dex. Just because you're an elf, doesn't mean you have to fall into elf stereotypes.

14 Con, 20 Cha, 12 Int (+2 Tome starting at 7 if you can help it). That's all. ^.^

Oh! Ah yes, can't neglect feats eh? Welp, it all boils down to the DCs for Drow, and at endgame, there's only two real options: Necromancy if you want to be a farmer. Enchantment if you want to run Epic (where crowd (http://ddowiki.com/page/Mind_Fog) control (http://ddowiki.com/page/Otto%27s_Sphere_of_Dancing) is the prime reason (http://ddowiki.com/page/Hold_Monster,_Mass) for why we're invited (http://ddowiki.com/page/Critical)). You say you want crowd control eh? Ok no problem!

Toughness -> Extend -> Maximize -> Heighten -> Spell Focus Enchant -> Greater Spell Focus Enchant -> Spell Penetration.

And that's all there is too it. Happy hunting! ;)

bard would be your best choice for a hagglebot, songs ,char bonus, and buffs boost it way up.
