Why have you people included optional quest objectives that are NOT optionals?

For example:

Prey on the hunter - "Optional: Kill Rockslide"

Yet you have to kill him in order for the floor to drop! Therefore this is NOT an optional.

Do some rewording!!!

Actually you dont have to kill him to get completion, done it countless times.

Also sometimes he doesn't even spawn and the floor will drop after some time.

GH Tor is the only quest I know that does this. Dragons are optional for the quest, but not for the chain.

There are lots of non-optional optionals. Seems like a kludge to give you extra XP for partially completing the dungeon so meh, bad wording, but good XP.

As said, you can avoid killing him.

Also, as hinted upon: Optional XP in quests is a way of rewarding players. Sometimes its not Optional, as by the definition of the word. That is the only mechanism they have, however, for awarding XP outside of a quest completion.

So, you're basically complaining that we're being given free XP. So... stop please? :)

You can smash the floor a few ways and completely avoid that encounter :)

Devil's Assault is the best example of non-optional optionals that I cant think of. But it means you can do the quest and recall before completion and still get a fair amount of xp without dinging the completion counter.

Non-optional optionals are illogical game mechanic.

Should be fixed even though not critical priority.

I would rate fixing non-optional optionals as medium priority because this probably confuses new players quite often.

I mean I don't have to even play tonight ... right?
