I would like to start off by saying I've really enjoyed the event thus far.

However, the last two dragons I've attempted to kill have lagged out so badly no one could even move, and thus the dragon escapes.

While I think going in and killing a giant undead dragon is pretty cool, I think the devs should rethink this part of the event for next time, since lagging out to the point of not even being able to move is not fun, especially for those who paid real money to go in and fight the dragon.

Please do something about this lag.

Yes, please do something about the lag even though I'm not telling you what time the lag happened or even on what sever it occurred.

Just fix it using your omnipotent powers, please.

Your sarcasm is overwhelming.

I had three failures where the lag made it impossible to play.

Oddly enough in two of those failures I was in an altar room with somebody using a cleric hireling. I have no idea how they even spawned the hireling because this is a raid and hirelings shouldn't be available. I'm wondering if there might be some correlation as cleric hireling lag has been a problem in combat before.

Failed out today because the lag was so bad on Khyber. It was interesting because the monsters weren't lagged at all. Previously we've had failed instances where both the players AND the monsters were lagged. It's much easier when the monsters are standing around doing nothing and you can hurt them, much harder when you're standing around unable to do anything and they're hurting you!

Just played a shortmanned dragon instance on Argo (successful!), and I was amazed. There was no lag. Zero, zilch, nada, smooth as cream. I know in my room we had two hirelings out due to manpower shortage issues. So it's not the hirelings. I think it might be the mobs... when you shortman the levers you get a lot fewer gargoyle spawns because the rooms are dark most of the time until the dragon comes. Of course the number of players might have something to do with that too. I know we had more than 16 because the DM wasn't screaming "OMG TOO FEW PEOPLE" at us.

I'd say, easy fix is to make fewer gargoyles. You can make them tougher or something, just spawn fewer of them.

I'm pretty sure its a combination of several factors with aoes, summons, and hirelings contributing to it the most it seems. Server calculating a dozen hirelings, and summoned monsters in same instance and dozens more across several instances along with swarms of gargoyles, player calculations, etc... and you get massive shroud like DPS lag.

The least lag I've experienced was in a level 20 instance with a raid group of 9 people and that was it no hirelings or summons. 4 arcane's one for each lever and the other people mainly lord of blades spread among the alters with the 5th, a dedicated healer staying with the barbarian in the nw alter room. Very long and exhausting pot intensive fight, got down to 5 minute warning, but successful and no lag. Not recommended lol.
