I have a wf fighter wiz 12/6/2 wiz/ftr/rog (Kensai fighter). I use SP for self healing and buffing (some damage spells, but not much). Most of the time when fighting I'm displaced (50% to miss). If I took Pale master II, I could go into wraith form which gives 25% concealment. Does this stack with displacement?

If so, is it 0.5 x 0.75 = 0.375 =37.5% chance to hit

Is PM self healing generally enough when in wraith form, as I'm used to 235ish reconstructs with 535hp. How long does it take to change forms, i.e. when low on hp, go normal, reconstruct, then back to wraith for hitting things.

Yes they stack, but they're on separate rolls. So it's not really 75% miss chance, more like 63% or something. Maybe someone can explain better.

But for your built I'd say it could be interesting. With the Aura, self buffs and wraiths form, I'm pretty sure you could take on a lot of mobs. I pretty much do this on my pure wizard, but have to rely on DP clickies and crappier to-hit chance with axe ^^

pretty sure he understands the math, as looking at his example will show that he's pretty much using it ;) that 37.5% chance to hit which he listed works out to a 62.5% chance to miss ;)

I've been trying to build a solid Melee caster similar to this, but I keep running in to problems (mostly from lack of experience with casters). Could you post some more details about your build (feats, enhancements, things to watch for or keep in mind)? It would be really helpful to compare notes/learn from a more expereinced player.

Well yes, yes indeed. ^^

As a melee Pale Master:

(1) Why would you be warforged? You're better off as a Half Elf or Human.

(2) Lich is generally better than wraith. The temp hitpoints on being hit are really nice.

(3) Leaving form, casting reconstruct, then re-entering form is gruesomely inefficient. Just toss a couple negative energy bursts. It'll work out to more healing for less mana.

1 = I'm already a warforge.
2 = My int is only 26, so practically zero DC's. The extra int and necro DC's are useless to me. I didn't think that there was anything else on the Lich form, while wraith gives you 25% incorporeal and saves me using etheral bracers.
3 = How much does the negative burst do for self healing. At present I self heal for 235 with a 530ish crit (upgraded titan gloves).

I think I'll respec my feats and try the build.

Here is a link to when I was previously asked to post my build (not PM version).

There is alot of discussion in there around the builds in general and it also points to a similar way being a bard (a fellow guildie has one and its awesome).

4 months on from that thread and I think I'm going to build some DT armour (since they fixed the runes) and get guards on it for when I actually get hit. Apart from that I have acquired some TOD rings but not enough for upgrades (yet). This is a great build for TOD as you can contribute to melee as well as kite. Downside is people want cc on judge/jailer part which you cannot do.

2 - every time you're hit as a lich there's a chance to get +30 temp hp (10% proc rate?). You also get +4 con. Most people find this more useful than the 25% concealment for staying alive. Your milage may vary.
3 - around 150 is what I keep seeing reported. It's less, but it's also doing aoe damage at the same time and is a lower level spell (plus you can have death aura ticking away too)
