So you can't just ground target with soundburst anymore,have to have a critter as a target.
Anybody else notice this?
Edit:If you don't have a hard target on whatever you want to soundburst it will not go off,and still consumes SP.

I just saw it too... Really not nice, especially because even if you do target a creature, if the said creature is killed mid-cast you lose SP and the spell doesnt even fire.

This change is not one I like at all. Hopefully a mistake and not WAI.

Even if you do have a monster targeted, the spell will not go off if the monster is close to the caster ! :(
You still do the caster animation and lose the spell points, but nothing happens. The spell can't be WAI.
I find it odd how the code for these things get screwy...

Yeah, this happens all the time with me... lousy half-orc barbarians...
Really hoping this gets fixed on monday as well

Still no signs of this getting fixed. One can only hope that some dev have seen this thread and the issue has been added to a "to-do" list.

Another note of interest is that the Soundburst spell lost the delay between the time the caster was finished casting and the time the soundburst occurs. This makes it extremely hard to avoid now if an enemy casts it at you, where previously one could outrun a soundburst.

My bard has switched his tactics until this can be fixed. Thankfully he just hit level 10 so he can cast the disco ball. :)

yep. rays, arrows, and ball spells are also a lot harder to dodge. my remo williams routine when approaching gnoll archers/casters is pretty much useless now. they are slowly but surely ruining the most fun parts of the combat system :(
