Only one change so far that bugs me. The fact mobs can now open doors to shrines. I was running Graverobber, and needed to shrine on my pally. Had 9 SP, 28 Hp, no lay on hands left, no potions, no wands. So I entered the shrine and let the door close. Alt-Tabbed out to the forums while using the shrine, came back at -6 HP and dropping. Log said a dread zombie had KOed me. I die, rez, start shrining, and see two dread zombies enter open the door to the shrine and rush me. Yikes!

I love it. Its very realistic that mobs can open doors. - especially humanoid / intelligent mobs. If it can be intim / diplo / bluffed, it can prob learn how to open a door.

Heck, on our NWN server, players would run from a bad encounter and zone out of a quest thinking they were safe, and the mobs they ran from would zone out with them, and then the beating commenced on the other side of the zone until morale improved. :p

So you don't have a zombie attack plan? :(

Here bud, I am sorry this might help. http://www.kuro5hin.org/story/2005/4/18/153047/155

Next thing you know mobs aren't going to want to stand in firewalls. ;)

I agree with the OP, I haven't seen everything yet, but lots of cool stuff!

Some of the responders were idiots. Thinking zombies will take damage from holy water, or can't cross running water? What a crock. Only vampires have those weaknesses. A zombie is relentless. It doesn't need to sleep. Doesn't get tired. It just hunts. Nor would zombies be fast. Resident Evil movies aside, a zombie has partly decomposed muscles. The fresh zombies would be faster, but still have to deal with rigor mortise (or however it's spelled). This would slow them down. Nor would they have the mental capacity to know when to run. They would either always 'sprint' or always shuffle.

My problem in-game was that I was NOT expecting the enemy to open the door. In the past, standing in a shrine room with the door closed meant complete safety.

imo your problem was that you have no pots and no wands whatsoever.

but that might be just me and the way i play the game ;)

Usually don't need them. But this time the bad guys kept critting. I had already used up all my healing potions. No money for wands currently after funding a level 13 feat swap on my main either.

So will Whisperdoom be able to open the shrine door in Tangleroot now?

So this post went from congratulating turbine on a nice job to someone complaining a creature opened a door to get to them.

Seriously that is 2 funny lol Can we get back on OP's point which is a congratulatory thread not a wine fest.

I agree aside for a few bugs nice job turbine.:D

Now all we need is for mobs being able to climb the ladder in EVON :(

They did do a great job. Only reason mobs opening doors now bugs me is... I don't think the patch notes mentioned that. It made for a great "OH SH.... moment. The new arcs are really well done. Loved half-elf when I was trying it out... All around good job.
