looking to make a new toon. need advise.

i am planning on making a new toon tonight, i am wanting to make a tank that uses BS with a shied to intimatank but can also DPS with a big TH when not needing to SB. i am looking at either an 18/2 or 19/1 paladin/fighter, or possibly a 20 fighter pure. Does anyone have any insite as to which would be better and with what race. thinkimg either HE for their extra Intimitate when needed as well as possiply their feat dilletate might come in handy or HO for the threat and extra 2H ench they get. please advise on your thoughts. I think in U7 that paladins are being given intimidate as a class skill.

I think this basically makes paladins the best tanks in the game when you consider high charisma, high intimidate, high saves, high HP, DoS, increased threat and now the capstone!

Human would probably be my race choice as such builds are feat starved (why fighter is so tempting) but dwarf, half elf, half orc or any other is viable too.

as far as pally vs human that is what I was thinking that pallies could make as good if not better tanks. i know they are feat starved so i was thiniking the one level fighter would basiocally free up two feats. plus being human would give me another. but with say HO they get the threat boost that being human just doesn't provide. so my question now would be is the one free feat being human vs the threat gen and extras you get from HO worth staying human? Next would there be in make or brake staying pure vs 1 fgt have any bosnus vs the free feet and tower prof that I would get? thanks for your insight.
