I'm hoping someone throws pumpkins/skulls my way because they look cool (and are possibly one of the only methods that you can change your looks/have cosmetic gear without paying).

it costs 50 TP to buy the grenades, and 50 TP to buy immunity/removal to the grenades, hence the link to the comic.

it does seem a little unfair on those that dont want the awesomeness of a glowing pumpkin head (will they turn into regular cosmetic hats you can buy?) to have to shell out 50TP on an event they want no part in. 5TP would have been a lot more reasonable.

still, lets just be thankful we dont have mounts and that turbine don't take every MMO improving idea that comic strip comes up with!

You can go into Delera's for 2 minutes, get some motes, go to the event turn in vendor,
and buy all of those grenades and po0pie pots for free, with earned motes, in game.

Just sayin.

You can get the potions via the in-game event as well. It's not like it's store-only.

Two things. First, I think it is extremely funny that again something for sale in the Turbine store is blocked by the swear filter like the Potion of the Party****er. It looks even better with the swear filter edit ...

Secondly, we have to buy a store item to temporarily keep ourselves from being griefed by people chucking grenades in the public areas? Seriously?

Consider that you can buy both with motes from the vendor, are you that much whining already? Seriously?

So.. if you get hit with a pumpkin and don't want to wear a pumpkin head for "several minutes" and don't want to spend some festival motes you got in the event on it, you can spend TP instead.

This is a big deal?

So, the only way to avoid unwanted "party hats" is we either have to spend TP or we have to spend time farming motes?

And the problem with that is THAT hard for you to grasp? Seriously?

I will likely be gathering motes from participating in the event, but I don't want to HAVE to do so just to avoid being griefed in public areas. It's just really poor form to FORCE people to either purchase a work-around or suck it up and deal. These things should ALWAYS have a free of charge opt out.

Hopefully these grenades only work in certain areas and can be avoided by /showhelmet off/on.

I agree, this is insignificant from my perspective. However, some people really 'attach' with their characters. I remember reading this study someone did, I think in Second Life, and basically he'd take his avatar and go get in other avatars' personal space. Just walk up and stand next to them randomly, or if he was having a discussion be a serious close-talker...and most of the time people would move, scoot back, and try and preserve their 'personal space'. On the one hand I think those people are a little crazy, but on the other hand, I understand it. It's an interesting part of human (or maybe just American?) nature.

It's a completely cosmetic effect for an event that will last a few weeks. Get over it. Better yet, get in the spirit. While I have no intention of paying real life money for this, I intend to get my hands on some of these grenades in-game and stock up for Halloween. :)

And Mr. Party****er, you can get your Party****er potions, you guessed it, free. Funny, they make these potions for people just like you and yet, still complain.

As has been mentioned a few times in this thread, there is a non-TP method of getting the Party ****er potions.

The skull and pumpkin potions are meant to be a fun way of celebrating the event, but we understand not everyone will want to participate. We feel there are two very reasonable methods of getting the Party ****er potion so that this won't be an issue for anyone that doesn't want this cosmetic affect applied to their character.
