What if anything are the various dragonshards used for? I currently have 601 of the Khyber dragonshard fragments and 1794 of the Sibreys dragonshard fragments. I obviously can't sell them and so far I've been unable to find the right person to trade them either. are they supposed to give you some kind of spec powers?
This may be a different area, but I'm going to ask it here instead of doing another post. When a person picks up an item and it binds to them and then they pick up a better item that also binds to them (i.e. say I have a +1 shield, +1 longsword and finally +1 plate armor) and during my battles or I purchase better stuff (say +3 items). How do I go about getting rid of the stuff I no long have need for since these bound items don't show up for sale when I visit the various vendors located throughout Stormreach and I do not have any extra storage space at the bank.

You can sell bound stuff to vendors, but you have to make sure it is repaired first. You cannot sell 'starter' items. Which will (usually) stay "Starter Item" in the description (one exception is rusty mace and short sword from the first Kothos quest, they are starter but don't say in the description). Starter items you simply destroy when you are done with them by dragging them out of your inventory.

To answer your question about the shards...
Khyber shards are used for binding your gear at the Stone of Change (http://ddowiki.com/index.php?title=Crafting&) as well as the spell Trap The Soul (http://ddowiki.com/page/Trap_the_Soul). Syberis shards are used for feat swaps (http://ddowiki.com/page/Fred).

Siberys shards are also used in Trapmaking (http://ddowiki.com/page/Trapmaking)
