Not that any self-respecting pure dark monk would use them, but I thought my monk splash kensai might. I haven't really had a chance to test, but I keep searching and nowhere does it mention anything about a saving throw. Do these curses get a saving throw?
I have to get one of them as a prereq for Ninja Spy. If they auto-stick, I might actually use the one I'm forced to purchase.

No, elemental curses don't have a saving throw... but sucks anyway. Why? Because the trigger the cooldown on ToD.
But sometimes, it's beneficial to use the fire one instead of ToD. For example.
The most common strategy to do Sor'jek undead conssit in walling him with four people, and having a wizard/sorceror grab aggro from him. He will stand there, frying in the firewall that that wiz/sorc will cast, while doing only aoe spell that hopefully the wiz/sorc will evade by running around.
Having a dark monk among the four wallers shorten the time necessary to fry sor'jek.
Same strategy is used for the two dragons in hunter to the prey, for those mad enought to do the dragons.

It's limited, but somehow useful.
Like if you doing shroud, fighting fire elemental boss.
You can curse it with cold. And many casters will pillar ray on it. And monk can also use water strikes.
My biggest purple number for it is up to 60 cold dmg.

Right, but my 7 level splash doesn't have ToD anyway, so I might actually use it.
Anyone have an opinion on which would be the best element to debuff at higher level?

Just fire & cold. Fire before vale, cold after it.
But, just to ask... why not take two levels of monk for ToD? Or, if not... why not light-side?

The dark/light question is one I've debated myself. Light might be more effective. I opted to do dark for a little extra damage from fists of darkness and ninja spy PrE. I also like shadowfade. In the group of people I run with, I'm usually the one getting hit and I generally already have blur/displace, so the extra stacking miss chance is welcome.
Why not take two levels for ToD? I'm using longswords. ToD won't work anyway. It's going to be a 12 fig/7 mon/1 rog. I have to take one of the curses to qualify for Ninja Spy PrE.
Yes I'm aware that it's not the most effective build. I did it anyway. :) It's fun and works well enough to get me to 20.
