elite
about 15-20 mins (for me)
any class but preferably a melee
eventually
better to grind with a 15-20 melee (melee) and a lowbe toon (you)

1. quicker to do just elite, so get an opener.
2. for a lot of points, give yourself a few days
3. just about any class can do it alone, but that means you'll have to do all difficulties, thus making it take much longer.
4. It is worth it, if you don't want to spend a dime.
5. if you group, it can go A LOT faster.
6. Just do all the starter quests then a bunch in the harbor, get to 500 favor for a good amount of TP.

1. do you do normal/hard/elite or just a bunch on normal?
Ideally you want Elite openers, if your soloing this and not VIP, you may find that you will be doing N/H/E for the shortest and quickest quest

2. how long does it take?
Again this time can depend on Difficulty the quest and which quest you can do. If you do not have a elite opener you could be looking at times to the 3 hours mark, because you will need to do more quest to gain more favor.
There are a lot of variables that could determine the time it takes just for the first 100 favor. but I'd say there are really just 4, are you soloing, do you have elite opener, starting as lvl 1, do you have Vet status
other factors are how you do the quest and your selection of quest you're doing for just favor running. if you have an elite opener it can take as long as 1.5 hours, but it should just be 45mins for 100 favor. Possibly quicker depending which elite quest are being done.

3. what class to make to solo 100 favor grind?
Any class would work, but melee with speed

4. is it worth it?
That depends on you. Can you tolerate rerolling and repeating the same thing multiple times.

5. is it better to group when favor grinding or soloing it?
Group

6. what quests should i do?
Any, ideally the ones that give the most favor, and the least time to complete.
this is the order I do The Cannith Crystal > The Storehouse's Secret > Heyton's Rest > The Collaborator > Bringing the Light > Information is Key > Haverdasher > Walk the Butcher's Path > Durk's Got A Secret > Garrison's Missing Pack > The Kobolds' New Ringleader > The Sunken Sewer

1. All on elite till you reach 100 favor. (I mean duh!)
2. About 40 minutes to 1 hour. (For me at least)
3. BattleClerics. (For me at least)
4. Depends. Are you willing to spend lots and lots of time doing something repetitive which gives minimal rewards?
5. GROUP. (Again, duh! Which is faster? 1 person whacking or 6 people whacking?)
6. Heyton's Rest, Cannith Crystal, Storehouse Secret, Collaborator, Durk's Secret, Bringing the Light, Information is Key, Haverdasher, Garrison's Pack, Kobold's New Ringleader, Butcher's Path. Some of these may be tough/time consuming so do some other Harbor/Marketplace quest that is easier.

I wouldnt call him dumb over it that's a bit harsh most guys really don't bother to find this out till later and honestly I'm not surprised he doesnt, people I've played with never paid favor sprinting any mind till I mentioned it to them.

Chat, Forums-w/server and time online info

put it in lfm?
Yes that would work

get some friends to help?
Yes, That would work

There is always someone favor running, but some just stay quiet about it.

You can try and organize a group here in the forums, maybe in the server section of the forums. Asking in Chat if any one is favor running. And Advertising in Group would work as well. if your in a Guild as those that wouldn't mind taking the time to open the quest for you, and Of course like minded friends.

I have seen some LFM's just have "Questing for favor" but they could be for Faction favor, and not so much favor for TP.

That. ^^^

Statistically speaking, someone is bound to be doing it. Put an LFM for '100 favor point grinding!' in Korthos/Harbor and people will gladly do it with you. If you want to be subtle, just put 'Doing Harbor/Korthos quests on Elite, need opener' or something and just treat the quest as a normal quest instead of a favor grind.

favor grind char is easy if you have already veteran status and warforged race:

2 fighter / 2 wizard - with str and cons and left on int

toughness
power attack
extend spell
weapon focus: slashing

wands:
bull str
repair moderate wounds
spells
exp retreat, shield, mage armor, hypno/detect secret doors/whatever

weapon: greataxe

... go zerg to 100 favor/reroll and again

I've really never had a problem getting a group together in korthos or the marketplace. There are always people running those quests. Sometimes it's a problem finding someone who has elite on all of those quests but if you do then it won't take long at all. I think I could do all servers up to 100 favor on each in about 12 hours.

^^this is very true but I wouldnt say 12 hours (depends who you run with) but I'm sure if you get a fast moving group prob like 4hours all or 5 but meh thats me I rarely even fight I just run like mad :D

Not sure if I understand the purpose of "100 favor point grind". Is it to get 25 Turbine Points? And you do it on a level 1 toon, then delete it and start over? Is that the idea?

Don't be so harsh on yourself -- I never learned to favor farms either. I mean, I'd look at a dairy farm and a peanut farm, I have no idea which one I should favor over the other...

Wait, did you mean "never learned to farm favor"? :D

1. Create a new toon
2. Get that toon to do elite quests till you get 100 favor
3. Get 25 TP automatically
4. Delete toon
5. Repeat
6. ???
7. Profit

People normally don't go over 100 favor because it gets increasingly longer to get from 100 to 200 favor rather than doing 1 to 100 twice.

if you can invis, you can bypass alot of mobs...takes me 30-40 minutes to get 100 favor. and that's zerging like there's no tommorow and with elite unlocked

6. ???
7. Profit

This part is important. Make sure you really enjoy Step 6, ???, because it sure as hell is going to take you a long time to get to step 7, "profit".

I've run with a couple of pro favor farmers and it's really like making DDO into a racing game, what a rush. You have to hug the corners and time your spellcasts with the natural slowdowns in the quest (rather than for maximum effectiveness). Also, you almost never get to use your Pit Stops, I mean rest shrines. It's more fun with a dedicated group.

Yes, that's what I thought.

In which case the answer to OP question "4. is it worth it?" is pretty straightforward. Figure out how long it takes to get 100 favor -- 1 hour seems to be in the ballpark. Figure out how much real $ you pay for 25 TP. Does your day job pay more than that per hour? If the answer is yes, then it is not worth it.

Rest Shrines are frowned upon and serves as a big waste of time. Spellcasting is always cast while jumping. No party member ever stops running. The dead are left to die.

I run 2-boxing: 1-st level (leveling up to 2nd in process) Bard (4-minute Inspire Courage, summons dog at Cannith Crystal and Collaborator, casts Remove Fear at harbor quests) and 5-th level Battle Cleric (1rng/3clr/1brb) with THF as runner and elite opener (if I had higher level toon at that server I'd play him as runner of course). It takes about 65-80 minutes to get 100 favor.

Quest selection:
6 (elite) The Storehouse's Secret
6 (elite) Heyton's Rest
6 (elite) The Cannith Crystal
12 (elite) The Collaborator
12 (elite) Information is Key
6 (elite) Bringing the Light
4 (hard) Defend Haverdasher
12 (elite) Durk's Got a Secret
8 (hard) Walk the Butcher's Path
8 (hard) Garrison's Missing Pack
8 (hard) The Kobold's New Ringleader
6 (hard) The Sunken Sewer
6 (hard) Missing in Action

seeing as the step 1-X with a ??? and profit advice in is often seen on forums i assume the ??? all relates to the internets primary use, and therefore should be inherently fun, or your doing it wrong :)

favor farming is fun. i like noobies telling me how great i am :)

if you have a decent computer, try running 2 copies of the game at the same time. you need to make a second account, and make a toon on it, run around and get all the quests you want on elite. then you are your own elite opener.

running with another farmer is great, and yeh its like a race.

the quests i do take about 40 mins and are: canith crystal -> storehouse -> heytons -> collaborater -> bringing the light -> info is key -> dirks -> garrisons -> stealthey repo -> kobolds ringleader -> recovering the lost tome

i usually put an lfm up with something is the desciption like 'favor farming. keep up for free exp and loot'

i run a tripleclass, rouge/barb/2fighter that is now a half orc. rouge for level 1 skill points, sneak attack bonus, barb for damage reduction boost and sprint boost and barb vet toon gear, and 2 levels of fighter to get all the feats for TWFing. he is pretty massively twinked, OP weapons, high AC and a dozen clickies. with a hireling, my hagglebot elite opener and 3 complete noobs in the party i can still solo everything

just worked out today with half orc, i can self buff to 30 STR at lvl4. things die pretty fast. now if only i could get that lvl4 DP clickie...

you're in the wrong thread

this thread is about earning free turbine points to buy stuff in the store like new quests. the aim is to get the free points as fast as you can so you can go back to enjoying the game properly

so please find another bridge to hide under

4. is it worth it?4. The farming pros here are bragging about farming 100 favor in 30-40 minutes. Even if they could reroll in zero time and do two full runs an hour, that is only 50tp an hour, or less than 50 cents an hour.

So it is only worth it if you cannot find a job that pays you 50 cents an hour. Otherwise you are better off working and using your wages to buy points, and then you can use your free time to level characters you actually intend to keep.
