With the changes to the Paladin class in U7, namely getting Intimidate as a class skill, I've been re-evaluating the plan for my TR. The focus of my TR will be as a human intimitank with TWF capabilities. (see my original plan detailed here: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=263120 )

The original plan was to go 18pal/2fighter for the additional feats, access to intimidate, and free granted feats.

Original Feats (10):
Exotic: Khopesh
TWF
ITWF
GTWF
SF: Intim
PA
CE
Toughness
Maximize
Quicken

Since then I have been contemplating going 18pal/1fighter/1rogue. I would lose 1 feat but gain the ability to have full (23) ranks in UMD which at level 20 would give me 39UMD standing in front of a beholder.

As I see them:

18/1/1 Pro's: easily obtainable no-fail access to all divine/arcane scrolls with UMD <= 44. 1d6 sneak damage (limited applicability)

18/1/1 Con's: Loss of 1 feat would likely mean no Quicken which could be large impact on self sufficiency (in battle healing - won't have concentration high enough to get thru hits)

18/2 Pro's: Quicken + Maximize + Pal Devotion + Human Healing Amp + Sup Ardor pots + 700sp + ConOp GS + Torc = a lot of self healing at 180-200hp healed per 60sp used.

18/2 Con's: 33 self buffed UMD puts me on low end for heal scrolls and other UMD niceties like WoE, Blur, Fire Shield, etc.

I would certainly value the input from some experienced Paladin players.

The update is interesting now that intimidate will be a Paladin class skill. I'm not sure what I'll end up doing, but even with the change I'm loath to give up the 1 Rogue / 1 Fighter splash because a 39 UMD is awesome and that extra Fighter feat and tower shield is nice.

Had you thought about dropping SF-Intimidate (just 3 points to intimidate) and picking up the Rogue Splash? That's probably what I would do if I were you so you can still keep the awesome self-healing ability.
