I've been looking through various attack speed slowing effects present in DDO via frame by frame analysis and I so far I have the following:

Encumbrance
Medium Load - 5% Attack Speed Penalty
Heavy Load - 10% Attack Speed Penalty
Overloaded - 30% Attack Speed Penalty

Ability Effects
Raging Sea - 5% Attack Speed Penalty
Freezing Gaze - 10% Attack Speed Penalty
Freezing Aura I - 15% Attack Speed Penalty
Aqua Sphere - 20% Attack Speed Penalty
Sticky - 20% Attack Speed Penalty
Freezing Aura II - 30% Attack Speed Penalty
Limbchopper - 50% Attack Speed Penalty
Freezing Aura III - 50% Attack Speed Penalty

Poison & Disease Effects
Poison: Icechill - 10% Attack Speed Penalty
Troglodyte Stench - 25% Attack Speed Penalty
Revolting Stench - 25% Attack Speed Penalty
Blight Rot: Slow - 30% Attack Speed Penalty

Slow-based Effects
Slow - 30% Attack Speed Penalty
Chaos Hammer: Slow - 30% Attack Speed Penalty
Chains - 30% Attack Speed Penalty
Gust of Wind: Slow - 30% Attack Speed Penalty
Magma Surge: Slow- 30% Attack Speed Penalty

Item Effects
Essence of Desire - 5% Attack Speed Penalty
Bloodrage Sated - 25% Attack Speed Penalty

*Effects I haven't gotten to yet for verifying attack speed decrease - Partial Stoning

My question for you folks is can you think of any attack speed slowing effects that I am missing (being I don't play humanoids I'm apt to miss quite a few)?

I've been playing 4+ years and I didn't know that one lol

Trog stench slows attacks, doesn't it?

Also, Scourge Choker's after effect.

Yeah, you forgot limb chopper which says it gives a 50% penalty to attack speed I believe. I have an epic Unkoor's Cleaver and I can double check it right quick in case I'm wrong.

Got the troglodyte stench added. I haven't had a Scourge Choker in a long time so I have no access to quickly test the attack speed penalty amount.

Defensive stances...ie Defender of Siberys

Tendon Slice 10% is bugged right now and reduces attack speed. I think. Dont quote me. :)

Attack speed slowdowns caused by Tendon Slice are related to the issue where particular monster models have their attack speed linked with their movement speed (Marilith during Update 1 and Pit Fiend during Update 5).

Limbchopper, found on the Necropolis Sever axe. The biggest magnitude slowdown...

Rogue Assassin Icechill Poison! (That'll be a hard one due to the poor duration and proc rate)

An environmental effect in the Necro 3 dungeon with Gelatenous Cubes...?

Hesstess partial stoning.

I don't know about DoS, but for SD it slows down movement speed, not attack speed

edit #2: Just noticed you went for effects on player characters so put the ones below in brackets, they are rarely used by enemies...

Solid fog is missing on the spell effect list, acid fog has a similar description so it should slow down as well I think? Never tested that because fog is slow, and time is xp for most players. always thought acid fog was great for bosses as a damaging solid fog..

Sleet storm "slows movement" as well, but movement and movement can be different when it comes to DDO descriptions...

Freezing effect (Gianthold Tor, VoN5, ToD) appear to slow down attack speed.

hamstring effects (like in gnoll area in desert) apparently slow down attack aswell...

Never noticed a reduction with titan's grip or essence of desire on ranged attacks.
I am mostly on a long break, if you need a scourge for testing let me know who to send it to.

Someone told me drinking Yugo pots slow attack speed by 5%.

Reluctant to believe it. Anyone know about this?

Harried from running up the Dungeon alert.

I don't know exactly how much slowed you are, but I'd guess around 25%.

Omg, I didn't know that one either.

Icechill, Blight Rot: Slow, Chaos Hammer: Slow, and Limbchopper added.

Keep in mind that I'm looking for effects that cause a decrease in attack speed, not necessarily movement speed (so effects like Solid Fog, Harried, Sleet Storm, and Defensive Stances are beyond the scope of this thread).

It is the clickable effect that possesses the penalty to attack speed. It is also rather fickle and appears to not bestow the penalty all the time.

The Beholder Armor has a slowing effect, though the stats escape me.

*Edit*
Metal Fatigue

Found on:

Beholder Plate Armor
Beholder Plate Docent
Effect: The metal plates of this armor sometimes tire you out. When you are damaged there is a small chance you will become Exhausted.

Exhausted creatures moves at half speed and take a -6 penalty to Strength and Dexterity. Exhausted creatures can be cured with the spells Heal, Panacea, or Restoration.

Lag also causes a decrease in attack speed, though the exact effects vary.

Metal Fatigue does not decrease attack speed. Movement speed goes down, but not attack speed. :)

I vote that every other thread my MrCow should get a sticky or something.

No one else has that vast amount of useful information...

Hi Cow. Dunno if the prefix crippling slows attacks. You probably already checked.

Interesting fact; Slow spell is a paralyzation effect and can be countered with remove paralysis potion. Just recently learned that from a guildy.

DA and the harried effect. It always seems like you attack slower at least.

Haste potions will also counter/dispel the slow spell.

Now I'm confused...maybe its sickness effect that remove paralysis cures? meh...

Not to pick a nit, but have you tried that on a fleshie and does it work consistently?

Play a fleshling? Why would I commit such blasphemy? Warforged are afflicted by Metal Fatigue.

... last I checked on my punching-bag human bard on a different account Exhaustion effects did not slow attack speed.

Hehehe that's my point

I wonder if it effects the lesser races differently?
