Ability score enhancements

As a new player, I have not found anything conclusive on this and the DDO Char Gen is acting flaky about it for me. Do ability score enhancements like Fighter Strength and Ranger Dexterity conflict in a multiclass character? I know both are class based but they are not the same stat...?

No they do not conflict. You get same bonus to str and dex.

As long as they're a different stat you can take both. Can't take Rogue Dex and Ranger Dex, for example. And you can always take your racial ones.

Racial ones are constant (ie. you can take Warforged Constitution as well as Barbarian Constitution)

Class ones don't conflict as long as they affect different stats (ie. Fighter Strength and Rogue Dexterity)

But NOT if they're the same stat from different classes (ie. Ranger Dexterity and Rogue Dexterity = fail)

Here's what I am running into:

1) Using Character Planner 3.5.1
2) Starting Dex 13
3) +2 tome at level 7 (total dex 15)
4) Ranger Dex II (total dex 17)
5) I meet the requirements for Greater TWF.
6) Character Planner shows the dex 17 requirement in red, indicating that I don't meet it.

Any clues?

Enhancements do not count for taking feats. You have to have a 17 before enhancements.

As a ranger you don't have to actually meet the twf requirements you get them automatically as a ranger regardless of your dex score.

Ahhh. That explains it then. I'm stopping at Ranger 6 (Tempest I) and moving on to Fighter to take the Kensai line. So, being a Ranger won't get me GTWF. I'll need the 17 dex. Thanks for the help figuring this out. It was driving me crazy.
