I currently have a 32 pt elf 8 TA/2 Barb that is doing fairly well and that I am planning to take to 20. I am also thinking about adding a 6 level fighter splash in order to get Kensai I along with some additional feats. Any thoughts on the wisdom of this kind of path?

"TA" = ???

It would help if you stated what your build goals, play style, etc. were. It's hard to give advice if people don't know what you're after.

By TA you seem to mean Thief Acrobat.

I would not suggest adding Fighter6 levels to that, and instead keep on as Rogue.

blind splashing is a bad idea.....ie. get the character planner out and run the whole plan through to L20......then see your result....what will the to hit # be, total HP etc...assess what you are giving up versus what you are getting. Compare an 18/2 versus the 12/6/2 you are thinking of.....Fighter gets you Kensai I and some hit points but you lose a couple of dice of sneak attack and other rogue abilities. Personally I don't think Kensai I is that powerful unless you are building for it specifically.

Do the character planner and you will likely find that a 12/6/2 Ro(TA)/F(Kensai)/Barb splash is not an optimal build........feel free to correct me if I am wrong when you do.

Also - don't get too upset if your post doesnt' get immediate response - sometimes they get flooded out by the other posters....and many like me just stroll the new posts page and maybe only go to the first page....so your question probably got lost in the flurry.
