cant receive pms??

ok so i send pms to people to sell stuff/talk or whatever and i notice i dont get any pms back.
so someone sends me in-game mail and says that it wont let them. so of course i try and send myself a pm.
It says im not allowed to?
can anyone help... i have no idea why im not allowed to..

I know there are some restrictions with free accounts, but not sure of specifics, I thought something to the effect of only so many tells allowed every so many minutes. So perhaps you exceeded that number if you sent a bunch of tells (if it counts tells sent and received toward that same total).

Alternatively I would look under options when you are logged in and not sure if it is UI or game settings, but see if you have the tab checked off that allows you to receive tells.

Did you double check the incoming text on the ingame text windows.

If its forums perhaps you have to have so much rep in order to send a pm

i have 12 rep.
so it cant be rep..

imp0zz1ble has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her.

If you are trying to send this message to multiple recipients, remove imp0zz1ble from the recipient list and send the message again.

Go to your User CP, click on Edit Options on the left hand side, scroll down to the PM section; make sure you have "Allow PM's" checked and make sure you have "Only allow PM's from Moderators and Contacts" not checked.

I'm just posting this here to say I fixed a virus that only effected this game and I made a thread about here. I was gonna ask that my thread be deleted but it was anyways - I had a virus from an email that ONLY effected DDO online and so I made a thread looking for help and ofcourse got trolled like crazy. I'm just making this post to say I fixed it.

The virus occured from an email (not from porn as some nub said) at the same time DDO had a phishing/hack attack. The virus only effected version 1.1 of 5 versions of .net framework program (whats it for anyways?) and DDO uses ONLY version 1.1 .net framework (remarkable coincidence) and since DDO was the ONLY game this virus effected and it happening when DDO had a huge phishing attack with people saying their accounts were hacked, well I thought maybe this was a problem for many DDO players but many of the trolls here thought my logic made no sense (umm sure) and so the ignorants did their usual flaming and insults.

I want to thank the people who helped me with suggestions. The fix did require, as a person suggested, that I remove and redownload the .net framework programs but I hadto discover that only version 1.1 was the problem and then needed a .netframework fixer program for it and so thankfully I got DDO working.

Anyways, I love this game!! Keep up the good work programmers and developers and sorry for my dramatic thread but I thought my whole comp was messed and stuff and I was very annoyed but I learned my lesson (first virus I ever got in 10 years of havin a comp) and am so happy all things are working good and I get to play more DDO!
