I am planning to TR my barb and am curious if anyone has any thoughts about Human vs Half Elf. I can't get Lammania to download properly so I can't see for myself. I know Half-orcs would probably be a better choice, but they're probably ugly, lol!

This will be my first TR, I am pretty much planning to follow the Whirling Dervish build and dual wield khopeshes.

Any opinions about whether I should wait for the next update and half-elves or just go ahead and start with a human? Thanks!

I started my first Fighter with Whirlwind feat as the goal because it would be an awesome area of effect. Wrong, cleave is nice, Whirlwind makes me cringe to have on my hotbar. There are just not that many times when, cleave and greater cleave don't get the job done. Whirlwind is feat expensive and not useful in end game.

Using Cleave, Greater Cleave and Whirlwind interrupt your attack sequence taking 2 to 3 attacks out of line each time you use them and end up resulting in LOWER DPS.

I wish I had focused on other things in place of Whirlwind attck.

Wish list:

Stunning Blow- BECAUSE THEY JUST STAND THERE WHILE I BEAT ON THEM
UMD- BECAUSE I LOVE TO SCROLL AND WAND STONE SKIN, FIRE SHIELD AND HEALS
More DPS- BECAUSE BIG NUMBERS MAKE ME FEEL MORE IMPORTANT

For what it's worth, I would never use Whirlwind again, but an excellent trip and stun are fun to watch.

Think of this, you enter a room with 5 mobs and whirlwind them all, and they beat on you while you cut them down. You lose 300 hp and kill them all. Or, you walk in room, trip one, stun one and move on to the others while the first two are incapable of attacking you and you kill all 5 losing less than 40 hp. That is about how it works out on my pure fighter who has Whirlwind, but ended up using Trip and Stunning Blow more often because they are just better.

What ever you may choose.

Good luck on your build.
