To prevent people from jumping other people and running up top before the other person can get them back, can we have these changes?
1) If you die, you appear ressed (as if you clicked OK already no HP or SP still) on the ledge.
2) If you kill somebody, you have to stay in the pit for another 30 seconds (or die) before leaving.
3) When they try to leave, an invisible wall blocks them until the last second.
4) When drinking an SP pot or eating food, you gain the first influx of SP or HP immediately.
Result:
Me: "Oh man I just got ganked but I'm back up top they better be ready for this. Lol @ Manyshot timer."
*Sip. Gets SP right away, goes down.*
Them: "Noooooo he got me back!"
Instead of:
Me: "They freaking jumped me again while I was messing with whats-his-face!"
*Runs up slower than Them, goes up ladder with Them. Clicks OK.*
(Emote): Them laughs at Me.

Brawling pits need no change. If you want structured PVP, do structured PVP. If no-one does structured PVP with you, it's because PVP is inherently broken and of no consequence, it's literally less than one percent of the game.

I like the OP's suggestion, but /not signed.
I don't think the game needs any time spent on improving PvP. I would much rather have new quests, stories and Raids to run, rather than make PvP "more fair". TBH I spend quite abit of time in Khyber's PvP pit, but it is for fun, not a competative part of the game. We can focus on PvP when the player base has enough new content, classes, items and story to hold the player base for a while. I don't think that will ever happen, but if it does, these are some good suggestions.
Remember, DDO is a team game (Or meant to be) and PvP is just contrary to that idea, it is for fun, not competative. Thanks for trying to be helpful, but this isn't a change I would be happy to see in update 8 unless it also had a large amount of new content and such with it.

Why do you need to "get them back"?
They killed you. You're dead. Let go of the eternal circle of PvP life and death and realize the true nature of D&D.
...quests.

If you take PvP serious, you really need to get a life...
I just wish we could use good spells! All I ask is level 1 spells. Why cant we use grease??? Hot oil wrestling DDO style yeah bay-bay!

H4x0r1f1c, I've been thinking about this now and you make a lot of posts asking PvP to be "balanced" or "made more fair" in a way that gives you an advantage.
PvP is already heavily weighted in favor of casters and also in favor of WF. You're playing a 20th level WF caster.
You've previously claimed to be outstanding in PvP, but If you still need even more "balancing" in favor of casters, then that's obviously not a correct assessment. PvP is supposed to be a minor add on to D&D, but it's obvious that it's the most important part of the game for you. Unfortunately, I don't know if they are going to be able to fix pvp so that you are good at it.

Why do you keep starting threads to flog a dead horse ?
It should be obvious by now that 99% of the people playing DDO don't care about PvP, that at least 80% don't want more PvP, and that 99.999% could live without it existing in DDO.
8 threads out of 10 in the PvP forums have been started by you, and talking about the same thing : breaking the PvE part of the game so that you can pwnz people in PvP.
These changes are again, pointless and will waste precious dev time that can be spent to best effect on more productive things ( Druids for example )

shield block w/ tower shield, DoD proc and the spearblock gloves from DQ to get a DR 45 easy, or go with Titanic Docent and get DR 55...along with the base 2 dr you have...if that doesnt stop you from dying due to damage taken, then you are going to have to revamp your build, oh and FYI next mod you will have problems w/ clerics killing you incredibly easy since they are fixing cometfall and you having a low reflex

HOW ABOUT
Pay attention at all times to your surroundings !!
I know at ALL times who is stepping in and out of the PvP balcony and "who's got my number!" and who I know I dont need to worry about.
:)
Its unfortunate that there are no world character transfers at this time !!
I have 2 toons Sarlona bound !!

See thats what I dont get ..... Cause those are the toons I try to avoid fighting lol !!
I guess your toon is only as good as you play it.
For example .... Tukaw could let me use his toon in PvP and I'd probably loose every time.

I agree they need to fix PVP, kind of like we got the dog fixed, we eliminated the source of the frustration.
I vote we get rid of PVP all together so we can stop reading these ridiculous threads that say the same thing 5 different ways.

He probably just dies a lot because other PvPers pick on him. I mean, I can't imagine anybody's not sick of these threads yet, even PvPers.

<snip>.
None. :D
If you want a fair and eqal playing field, where others do not jump in, simply call out a challenge, and teleport to a private arena. That is in fact what they are there for.
Have you tried them?

My only question here is why this dead horse (quoting the 9-27 post ;) ) was prodded so it could start reeking again.

Dear OP that is not a equalizer that is a 30 second window to enact revenge. I don't see how this equalizes anything.
The best way to equalize PvP is to log out of DDO then log in to WoW and then click cue to battleground.

DDO has PVP?
no it doesent, i wont go through details why, already done lengthy post in some #n pvp thread
at best it could be called arena where you can test certain spells, some tactics against others, this is FAR from pvp
also, they could make so called pvp twice better than it is now, it would still be long behind what some pvp focused games have to offer. A product that tries to be everything will eventually be nothing.
its not really hard to understand that no game is ever going to be developed enough to cover whole online gaming genre, while i wish it would happend one day, i doubt it will. if something as utopistic would finally become true, id probably plug the cable and have a last look on a 'real' world.
ps. there is nothing wrong with my sarcasm detector in this case
