I am experiencing a pretty strange issue and now it has pursued me across 2 different computers.
Quick stats:
Asus N61JQ Notebook
4gb Ram
ATI 5730 Graphics card 1GB
Intel Core 720 Quad Core
To begin with, I can play the game on Ultra High settings with zero frame rate issues and no slow down even during the largest fights and raids. The game runs nearly perfectly with one exception, it freezes up pretty regularly for 2-5 seconds.
The problem usually occurs whenever I hover over a weapon description as though the game is choking on trying to pop up the description. It also happens frequently whenever an event occurs during a quest i.e you just complete a major quest objective and the game displays new information on screen indicating the result and/or a new objective to be completed.
It happens other times but usually on the above. However, it has proven to be disastrous on a number of occasions when I have been moving through a trap and it has locked up right at the moment that I am walking through the trap and bingo, I freeze and I'm stuck standing in an elite fire trap for 3 seconds.
I don't have the issue with any other games, just DDO and I had the issue on my previous desktop as well so I'm wondering if this is a common issue.
I've searched the forums and I didn't see anything so apologies if there are already other threads on the topic.
I'm a VIP but I don't know that I can justify continuing to pay for a game that causes such incredible frustration when i die for reasons beyond my control. I don't need any help getting killed, I'm already quite good at that on my own.
