New PvP Area!

I suggest putting a PvP area in The Portable Hole so that lowbies who can't use Teleport won't go in there.

It could be primarily a caster-only pit but people with UMD and other stuff could get in.

I like this spot since it has a barkeep and a mailbox.

If it sold spell components and had an AH there too it would be awesome!

I see no reason for this, as PvP is but a sideshow in this game. Developers spending time on a new pit is a waste of cash, IMO.

He means on the ground floor, btw. Sorc trainer, Wiz trainer, soul binger, Mailbox, tavern bartender, empty room behind tavern and ingred/potion sellers right accross from the bar, next to the trainers.

This just isn't needed.

Arcanes are much too refined to brawl in the portable hole.

If they wish to lower themselves to the common masses, they can enter the establisments of the commoners.

If anything, the portable hole should be spurced up with book shelves and tabels for study. This place should be a place of knowledge and study, not a brawling area.

I think that PvP should be fair and balanced in all areas of DDO. The problems that h4x0r1f1c complains about only happen in specific areas of some taverns. I suggest that
Turbine make all the other taverns act like the Portable Hole, not the other way around.


I have never heard any complaints of people dying in the Portable Hole and I'm pretty sure that Arcane Archers are not able to kill any players in the Portable Hole - even if they have Slayer arrows. Also, in the Portable Hole, h4x0r1f1c's spells are no less effective on characters that have a spell-absorbtion Ioun stone than they are on any other character.

It's a perfect solution!

Its the only place I ever go to buy components, since they're all at one handy-dandy convenient vendor, and I can also stock up on scrolls on the top floor.

While we're on the subject, for your information those two general vendors are also one of the places you can buy Soul Gem bags, and Tiny Khyber Dragonshards for use with the Trap the Soul spell.

A enclosed room for pvp where aoe spells are turned off = FAIL
A pvp environment without really any terrain, rocks, trees, castles, flags = FAIL

And lastly: DDO doesnt need another method of working out how leet and uber the players are, for that we already have the vet/noob divide, the elitist guilds, MyDDO, Guild renown leaderboard.

Tbh if your well into pvp go and play a fps like modern warfare 2.

You PvP guys could actually put up an LFM, fill a group, and go into an arena.....

You'ld have privacy, the ability to screen who gets in, and more people ads more variety!

Plus no place for those pesky AA to hide while Manyshot recharges! :rolleyes:

Not that it matters to me, as I have never stepped inside a pvp even once.

But I really do not want to lag just walking up to the bar because the pvp pit is rocking, like what happens everytime I go into the lobster.

OP, Why don't you take the suggestion, that is posted in everyone one of your threads about pvp, and create your own pvp groups? That way you will be happier not getting killed by those pesky AAs all the time and we will be happier not seeing you spam the forum every few days with "pvp change" post.

If you just want a PvP pit in a portable hole, that is fine. Just be sure to take your bag of holding with you.:p

I would really prefer that PVP did not occurr in the portable hole, for many reasons (most of which have been covered by previous posts), and because my AA would need umd to get there of course.

Try the pvp area in the phoenix tavern out. No nasty holes to fall into, lots of lvl 20 people standing round doing nothing that may need some quick kicks, and a nice dingy atmosphere for sneaky tricks, ahhh, i mean, lots of room.

What about a Dark Side dimension where your toon battles it's polar opposite and another player controls the duplicate?


What about an adventure area where toons have their thoughts projected into monsters so :

Wizard becomes Orc Shaman

Barbariand becomes Minotaur

Bard becomes Bug Bear Bard

Rogue becomes Kobold

Cleric becomes Zombie

Monk becomes gray ooze


And then the transmogrified players must use their new monster powers to defeat the monsters inhabiting their true bodies!

Go here, full PvP that holds weight in the game as a whole. You can fight anywhere, and the classes are almost completely balanced for PvP (Bear Shaman is overpowered compared to the rest). And, it has a F2P component as well. You'll be much happier there, and we'll be much happier with you being there.

This game is by far the most unbalanced pvp game ever when a lvl 30 can 2 shot a lvl 80 fully geared character
And this is why this game is dead used to be over 100k playing and now even in the most populated servers its hard to find any 1.

but I also have to add it has the best combat system in any mmo (and I tried just about every 1)

Wow !!

I took a visit to sarlona with a REAL low lvl toon yesterday. I gotta tell ya for 4PM CMT the lobster was WAY busier than Khybers Lobster is at that time.

So .... I decided to hop in the pit with a 6th lvl archer ( basically squat for gear )

( Hey did they make your "hole" smaller in the Pit cause I didnt fall in it when I jumped down ? ) :):)

What this comes down to is I am not sure why this guy keeps putting up posts about "changing this and changing that"

I stood there amongst 8th - 20th lvl toons and no one even took a swing at me !! Some even said hello.

I gotta tell you if someone did that on Khyber they'd be dead before they hit the PvP floor !

I think what it comes down to is no one here likes this one particullar guy in Sarlona PvP !

PS: Was Sarlona an EX European server ? The only reason I ask is there was more foreign language in general chat than there was in English ... NOt a bad thing ... I am just curious
