Any major oversights here? Never built a barb before and this looked like a viable option. Evasion, UMD, Frenzied Berserker THF.

This is a TR, thinking about retiring my monster. Tips, oversights, ideas, suggestions welcome, thanks.

Do you plan to run epic quests?

Just after a quick look, you are going to want to take cleave way earlier than 18. You have to have it for the Frenzied berserker PrE. Also not huge but I would start with 18 str at the expense of some other stat. Toughness you can decide if you want at 18, or somethign else. With a barb its very easy to forgo in favor of another feat as your HP totals will be quite high.

You can't take Past Life feats until level 3. You have it listed as level 1.

You don't need DEX for THF. You didn't max STR and CON, but you should have.

Personally not a fan of 2 Rogue splash on a barbarian build. Evasion is cool, but you don't have the reflex save to make it useful. Fighter is a much better splash choice: two additional feats, fighter strength, fighter haste boost.

took me a minute to realise it too, but the PL feat isnt the active feat, thats the passive one. See he has two feats at lvl 1, and he's not a human. AND he said he was TR'ing from a monster.

maxing con isnt exactly needed, but not maxing str is just silly.

barbarians get 4 skill points a level, having a 12 int is overkill, even with maxing UMD. ah nvm I see it, you're going full rogue skills as well. Something to keep in mind with the rogue skills is that they do not work well with rage. You'll have to Unrage everytime you want to disable a trap. Not a huge deal at lvl 20 with 7-9 rages that last 4+ minutes each; it IS a huge deal while leveling up when you have 1-4 rages and want to disable a trap for the exp bonus. Personally I'd take UMD and Open lock, leave Int at 8, and eat a +2 Int tome at seven.

Unlike the monster build, you'll find toughness not really necessary on the barbarian, particularly since you have raid loot to fall back on at the appropriate levels. Its a nice buffer on a first time barbarian with no loot. Its overkill on a well geared barbarian. Stunning blow is an amazing feat to add in its stead on a barbarian. Its not useful pregianthold, as you can normally 1-2 shot everything, but once you start doing 14+ content its very handy.

your reflex save should be ok. It'll be on the lower side, but still useful. (+5 resist item, a LotD, alc ritual, keeping GH up along with haste all help) Two things improve it drastically up to very useful:
1) uncanny dodge
2) craft a +3 reflex save item for a more permanent solution.

If the OP is still alive, here are some pointers for 18/2:

1) Max UMD and Intimidate. Get Open lock to 10 ranks and the rest in balance.

2) I started with 18/16/16 on my Wf barb/rogue. You can get 39+ UMD without putting any points in Cha.

3) If you are going for rogue splash, you might as well go TWF since you need reflex save for evasion.

4)Get toughness if you want to raid tank Horoth comfortably (800 hp) or Stunning Blow for Epic (700+ hp)

5)Barb/rogue can get to 28 reflex self-buffed somewhat easily. If you actually know how to play, you use your uncanny dodges when needed for a boost of +6 reflex. Most of the stuff in epic is a DC 30-35 reflex besides traps, which you have a reflex bonus to.

I can do a breakdown for the faint of heart:

Barb-----6
Rogue----3
Dex------8 (26 dex with epic spectral gloves & rogue dex 1 enahncement)
Gh-------4
alch rit.--1
Res.-----5
haste----1

Total Reflex = 28

6) This build takes a lot of items to make useful in Epic. For normal content it's a breeze.

7) Does anyone giving advice here even play a 18/2 besides me?

no rogue splashed barb here, but I think our advice is fairly similar

Sorry Black, your advice is good and spot on except maybe the part about reflex. I'm at work so I get a little blunt in my wording :D. I just feel peoples assumptions about barb/rogue reflex is poor.

only thing i can think of that's really an issue in my mind is your str.

drop con by 2 bump str by 2. +1/+1 in epics will go a lot farther than 20hp on a 7-800 hp toon.

nm i was lookin at the middle list :P where it showed the tomes so was seein the con at 20.

I agree, 18 STR at creation. A barb has one role and thats DPS. That comes first.

OP for a 34 point build why not start 18 STR , 15 DEX (14 if you happen to have a +3 tome banked) 18 CON and go full TWF with dual Khopesh?

Also agree 12 INT (and toughness) is not needed. with 8 base+2tome at lvl 7 you will still have enough skillpoints to max out Intimidate & UMD and get about halfway through another skill (I went w Balance). Dosent take much in OL at all to open doors in shroud.

Also, alot of ppl forget that Madstone boots have +4 dex on them, youll always be wearing those, so that saves a slot for your dex item :)

was basing my experience with the saves off of my clonk who should have a similar save situation (minus the uncanny dodge)
