Pally Caster Levels?

I found in the manuals that - instead of the PnP rules - the caster level of a Pally equals his Pally level. So a level 4 Pally has CL 4 instead of CL 1. Perhaps one of the experianced players can verify this.

But does the Pally CL stack with Cleric CLs gained by multiclassing? So does a L4 Pally / L4 Cleric have CL 8? Or are they handled separatly? Or to put this in other words: does the CL of a Pally suffer from cleric splashes or vis versa?

You'd get two spell lists,your caster level for each would be equal to your level in that particular class.
In your example,a 4/4 split would be CL 4 paladin and CL 4 cleric respectively.
