View Full Version : FOM spell doesn't grant you immunity to Slow?

The DDO wiki said that Freedom of Movement (item) (http://ddowiki.com/page/Freedom_of_movement) grants its wearer immunity to Slow, but Freedom of Movement (spell) (http://ddowiki.com/page/Freedom_of_Movement) doesn't.

I have verified this by eating a Suulomades Cookie (http://compendium.ddo.com/wiki/Item:Suulomades_Cookie) and still slowed by mobs.

If this is a bug, can devs fix it?

Are you slowed as a result of having the slow spell cast on you? or are you being slowed cause you have ****ed of a whole bunch of monster and now you are harried?

If it is the first then it is probably a bug. If it is the second kill some **** and move on with your life harried is an effect of Dungeon alert and there is no way to circumvent it, save killing some ****.

I was slowed after being hitted by mobs who will slow you down by hitting.

It sounds like you are talking about harried. FOM does not work against that ... i would love to know why lol

That's dungeon alert. Nothing will prevent it except killing everything you see.

It was Slow. As I see an icon of Slow (http://ddowiki.com/page/Slow_%28spell%29) on top right corner of the screen and it has a few seconds count down.

You were harried, plain and simple.

They share the same icon.

You weren’t slowed. (Don’t worry. It’s an easy mistake to make. They really need some more icons in DDO.)

Next time, take a second to hover your mouse over the icon. You will see that you are harried. If you feel a need to test how slow interacts with FoM, go into “The Troglodytes Get” and let the trog casters spam slow on you.

I see. Thank you.

It is really odd that mobs can slow you down by hitting you while dungeon alert is yellow and above.

If Freedom of Movement prevents Slow, why does it still allow you to be hasted? They are, in essence, two applications of the same spell.

Because one is impeding your movement (slow) and the other is increasing it (haste). FoM only prevents you from being impeded.

Gotcha.

Guess it's if you look at slow as a TIME effect it doesn't make a lot of sense, but if you look at it as a movement restrictive thing it makes sense.

I always just think of Haste as a counter to Slow, and it just costs 58pp every time it's cast on me. *chugs pot*

It’s the devs way of saying “Look mister... we put these mobs here for you to *kill*. Now, you’re gonna kill em!”

Just an FYI.....the spell 'remove paralysis' will remove slow.

Haste will remove slow also

But chugging a Remove Paralysis potion and then a Haste potion feels better than chain drinking 2 Haste Potions. :D

LoL...Every time I see a Remove Paralysis Potion I always think "How would I drink that?"

But it is hard to drink a remove paralysis potion while you are held. :(

You are correct, but it still makes me sad... :(
