I have been interested in the Ninja Spy, and I love my Ranger. I am considering this build, and I would like some feed back as I have never played a monk. The idea is high AC, self displacing, self healing and fast attack speed. He would dual wield MinII and LitII short swords, and possibly stat damagers(W/E, W/P)

Thanks in advance for any input or tips.

*The Reason for the Valenar Enhancements, is because this would be a +5 LR from my 18Ranger/2Monk who already has 2 Min2 Schimis

Looks good - i've got a kensai version im levelling (monk 7 fighter 12 1 wiz - wiz splash for extend spell) and its a lot of fun - the main difference is that yours will have more versatility through spells, skillpoints & ability to use bows (plus probably better reflex saves for evasion) rather than the increased HP & baseline dps with the shortswords (not taking into account favoured enemies) that my kensai has. You might even want to consider adding the wizard level if it doesnt detract from your other abilities as the free metamagic feat will benefit your ranger spells as well as doubling the effectiveness of those displacements.

shame about the scimmies you've already got - you wont be centered with them so will lose out on the ability use stances (especially wind, with its increase to doublestrike chance) & build ki for strikes, healing meditation & shadow fade while wielding them, but once you get the greensteel shortswords you'll be laughing.

Also its a bit of a shame theres no space to fit in the 3rd tier of the dragonmarks - it isnt too amazing in itself (though handy situationally) but it gives 2 extra displacements per rest which are very useful. With the build as posted, i'd probably take the 1st tier at 1st level in place of dodge & drop one of the toughness feats from the monk levels and take dodge there instead, then just get the other marks in the later levels, especially since its an LR not playing it as you level.

Please don't crosspost (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=274381) the same build to multiple forums - at least not within 10 minutes of each other. It's considered a forum faux pas; plus it fractures any discussions about your build. Thanks.

With the proposed build, your TWF will be up to 170% by level 12, then it will jump to 200% by level 19.

Alternatively, you could front load 12 of your ranger levels so your TWF was at 200% at level 12. I would posit the 30% more hits will vastly outweigh the slight benefits you're receiving from Ninja I for levels 12-19.

Also, the 13th level of ranger is useless per your enhancements list. The only thing worthwhile would be favored enemy damage IV, which you're not taking. I'd go with an 8th level of monk for the resists, or splash another class in there.

Quick question: The Ranger lvl 3 Diehard qualify the monk for Shintao? Would think so, just checking for someone who may have already gone this route...
