So the big question is: Quantity (TRing as fast as possible to say your the greatest...it's a game...) vs Quality (maybe focusing on equipment to make the best class for your level)?
So you can probably assume I'm on the Quality side if not well there you have my choice. As a three month old player I have found it more enjoyable to focus on running every single quest on elite. Kinda like cleaning house bottom to top.
This has allowed me to learn much and gain alot of useful items for my level or use on my other toons as soon as I start a new one. Why rush through when there is so mouch to exploit on your first 28 pt build...I just don't get it sometimes.
Okay maybe I understand f2p trying to get content but then again would you not rather favor reap everything you can to unlock adventure packs.
Couple cents for your thoughts.

Different strokes for different folks.
Why grind out elite when you don't need the XP (P2P) and you can run it in a fraction of the time after you hit level 20? Why run in a pug when you can often get faster XP solo? Why go solo, when you can run with friends? Why join a guild with 800 people when you can join one where you know everyone? Why join a small guild when you can join one with a fancy airship and buffs? Why race to 20 when you can smell the roses? Why smell the roses when you've run the quest a hundred times, and just view it as a stepping stone to the quests you still enjoy? Why waste time grinding out lowbie gear you'll soon outgrow, when you're going to sit at cap until you TR and you might as well devote that time to grinding better gear at level 20? Why waste weeks grinding TP for a single high level adventure pack when $150 will buy you the entire game?
Why not just go outside?

It's an age-old debate between those who enjoy the destination but not necessarily getting there and those who think the journey is (at least) half the fun. It's tough convincing anyone in either group to defect to the other.
Tell you the honest truth, I'm a more impatient gamer than I once was. I'd like to be able to access end-game content more quickly. However, I am also a non-recovering Alt-O-Holic who frequently rolls a new character when I can't find a group so, if end-game is my goal, I'm my own worst enemy. That's been true of my approach to MMOs since NWN on AOHell.
My compromise has been to play a class that is welcome in groups but can solo so I have the best of both worlds on my way to level cap. That is the character- the first one I decide to concentrate upon- that is the "flower sniffer". After that, I tend to try to focus only on quests that yeild excellent xp to speed my way to 20 or at least lead to quest rewards that will speed the journey. If I can avoid The Pit, you best believe that I will. But I'll run the Depths chain until I pretty much have to gie Turbine XP in order to run it- it's quick and soloable.

I assume you are referring to my final statement, "Why not just go outside?". Yeah, that one was a mistake, sorry about that. I didn't mean it, honestly. It won't happen again.
By the way, looking at your guild's renown, when was the last time you saw the Day Star?

Rofl, its simple math when given a formula and perspective. Another quality over quantity, and added in effeciency. We have been slowing down, and no1 is on 24/7 ... we are not machines... yet!!!
