Probably suggested this before but I'd thought i'd mention it again.

Keepers of the Past

The Keepers of the Past are bards and clerics who determine which ancestor will guide a newborn Tairnadal elf through life. In Tairnadal religion, each elf is duty-bound to honor and emulate his or her patron ancestor. The Tairnadal believe that these warrior ancestors, known as Spirits of the Past, can live again in the present if their deeds are recreated. Elves who share a common ancestor will compete with each other to become the perfect embodiment of their patron. The Spirits of the Past are neutral. The favored weapon of the Keepers is the double scimitar.

(double scimitar could be implemented by using the quarterstaff animations combined with double bladed model)

Path of Light

The Path of Light is a lawful neutral religion followed by the kalashtar of Adar. Followers revere a positive energy they call il-Yannah ("the Great Light"). They seek to, through spiritual meditation and other subtle means, bring about the Turn of the Wheel of Dal Quor, which would result in the destruction of the current Dal Quor and its evil Quori denizens. Most followers are psions and psychic warriors, seeking to perfect themselves through meditation and communing with the light. They are in particular conflict with the Inspired of Riedra. Their favored weapon is the unarmed strike.
The Path of Light was first developed by the de facto "mother" of the kalashtar, known as Taratai. Like all modern Quori, Taratai sprang from the Dream of the Age, known as il-Lashtavar (roughly translated as "the darkness that dreams"). However, Taratai was inherently good, unlike her brethren, and felt at odds with the age into which she was created. After a period of research, Taratai discovered that the current Dream of the Age would eventually expire, and the one that will replace it will be one of joy and light. The Path of Light was developed as a series of actions that, she believed, would accelerate this process.
After the good Quori were driven from Dal Quor into the bodies of the monks of Adar, Taratai and her followers continued to practice the Path of Light. However, all of Taratai's descendants sacrificed themselves to create the Shroud, a great magical creation that protects Adar from the Inspired and agents of the Dreaming Dark; it is unknown if she still exists, and if so, in what form.

Then there are the EVIL ones: blood of vol, the dark six, path of inspiration, cult of dragon below, to join vulkoor who's already in.

More options is (almost) always a good thing, and I think these could be interesting.

I suppose Path of Light could come out with Kalashtar... :D

After running the Catacombs series, I have always kinda wondered what a cleric/follower of the Duality would be like.

Path of Light would make most sense if and when we get Kalashtar, Psionics, and so forth. Favored weapon: Unarmed.

I had to look up what 'Tairnadal' is. It's the Valenar elves, I gather.
Anyway, double weapons present more of an issue than just animations; even quarterstaff is implemented as a two-handed weapon, rather than a double.

I think we could see some splitting of the Sovereign Host up and allow worship of the individual gods, or at least some of them. Maybe add in the Traveller, too.

Likely the traveller will come as he's different from the other dark six. He has scimitar as his favored weapon, he's also the artifice deity so maybe he'll come later when artificers come (the other trapfinding/trapbuilding class)

Individual gods with different weapons for the sovereign host would be good, the advanced faith can still be the same unyielding sovereignty, but the weapon focus should be definably chosen from the host.
I'm SURE there are dwarves that want to choose BALINOR with his battleaxe (probably war axe also) as their weapon rather than longsword.

They're from the the same island as the aerenal originally, and some have migrated to the valenar which is on khorvaire itself and have a different outlook on life to their brethren, they're much more martial orientated. their egos are directly linked to their combat prowess.

keep in mind the faiths of undying court are different to the keepers which is one thing ddo isnt doing right at the moment, but it's fine since we dont have keepers faith choice yet. (they're more druidic anyway so again probably wait till druids come)

Why stop there?

seriously, why stop at adding in a few new faiths? I'd want the entire religion, complete with domains, evil alignment, proper chapels, etc.

I agree , they could implement a whole stack simply with a table of numbers.

Domain Name , level 1 spell added, level 2 spell added , Level 3 spell etc., Level4 etc
1 Cold Niacs Snow Storm Sleet Storm Ice storm
2 Fire Burning Hands Flaming Sphere Fire Ball Firewall
3 Pain Ray Enfeeble Mass Inflict Light Ray of Exhausti Symbol of Pain
4 Charm Charm Person Charm Animal Suggestion Charm Monster
5 Travel Expedious retreat Jump Slow Haste
6 .....
....

The way spells work out their value may need to be redone, but that may need to happen to implement CHANGING spell shapes for archmages, elemental substitution for the savants and archmages.

One day you may see a SONIC FLAMING SPHERE dealing sonic damage, colour substituted so that it's a grey flame. Wall of Flaming Ice Flame, Scorching Electricity
