56 str good enough for stunning blow?

I was thinking of tossing toughness in favor of stunning blow but I wasn't sure if 56 str is high enough to hit raid or epic trash.

the other thread about stunning says something about a DC40, lower then that you shouldnt really bother

dc is calculated as 10+str mod, so ouy need a 30 str mod without other boni, which means 70str

so if you have nothing else which boosts your DC, then 56 isnt enough

you may not stun high fortitude save mobs very often
but mid 30's will almost always get epic trash casters
also mobs can roll 1's too

A Stunning +10 goes a long way to help the DC if your str mod isn't cutting it.

Also, there's really no good reason why you shouldn't be sporting a 60+. What are you missing?

I run a kensai fighter in epic all the time

36 base str
8 power surge
2 rage pot
= 46 most of the quest

46 = +18 modifier

10 + 18 + 10 (from icy burst heavy mace shock of stunning +10)

38 dc + fighter tactics +4 and Kensai bonus of +1 = 43

43 dc hits almost no-fail

add in

+ 6 str from titans grip

+ 4 from double madstone = 56 str

43 dc + 5 = 48 dc really no-fail stunning blow as far as I've seen.
